As excited as he got when accelerating the car, I thought it would get higher than a 4. Some issues I have with the car: 1. Can anyone access the charging port? No one should be able to access any part of the car unless they are authorized to. If there is not some mechanism to keep the charging port locked unless it is unlocked from the inside, then Audi goofed. Yes, it is not a gas tank but still, I don't like the idea of someone walking up to the car and being able to open a panel. 2. Doors are electronically controlled and not mechanical. As well engineered as this car appears to be, I always fear an electrical failure in a car like this would trap passengers in the car. 3. Fragrance? What exactly are you breathing? Artificial chemicals being squirted into the cars cabin is a toxic health hazard. After watching this, I now wonder if New Car Smell is the result of manufacturing or artificially added. If you want to understand how dangerous Fragrance is, watch the documentary STINK on NETFLIX. Audi really screwed up there. The only think a passenger needs to smell is fresh air. 4. All this electricity and no power converter? In this day an age with these news cars, I should not have to buy an after market power converter to get 110v A/C. A standard outlet should be in the back and front if I want to plug in a laptop or other electronics. The car should be able to tell how much power is being drawn to give me that estimated mileage efficiency rating. 5. Back cargo area has no privacy cover. Another detail that was missed by Audi. Some SUVs have a retractable cover about the same level as the top of the back seat (not including head rest. 6. Does artificially noise turn off? Can it be heard in the car? A lot of road noise can be heard while Doug did his test drive. An artificial hum just adds to it. An artificial hum is not necessary if the car is on the highway or going a certain speed when the tires start making noise. I am not sure if I like the artificial hum. Quiet is good. People need to stop looking at their phones, take the ear buds out, and look both ways before they cross. If you are driving where you are likely to encounter pedestrians, you need to be paying attention instead of texting on your phone or looking at all those distractions. I wonder if a blind person is sensitive enough to their environment to feel an electric car approaching? Doug may want to add cabin noise as a rating.

Being an Audi, Im positive this car is literally depreciating right before our eyes in this tour. Audis are one of the WORST car manufacturers in modern times. Absolute garbage cars. Dont believe me? Look at the placement of the cup holders in this 80, 000 car. Theyre in the sub level of the arm rest. So you have move a bunch of things out of the way just to put down your damn cup. And the iPhone charger is hidden inside as well up against the wall? So unbelievably dumb. By the way, if the door lock is electronically opened, RIP to anyone that buys this car in area that snows. I guarantee you this car will lock in its owners when the batteries drain in cold temps. All those digital screens are 5, 000 repairs waiting to happen. I expect even the etron charging door to break within 2 years. Audis are such junk even their electronic cars have interference engines and will need 5, 000 in new valves. Okay, thats a joke but the car guys will know what Im talking about. Audis are infamous for having the worst over engineered cars designed.

So if I want an extra 8 miles of range I need to turn off the air con. My customers/family I'm sure would appreciate interacting with me as a sweaty wiffy mess. What about travelling at night. Do I need to turn off my headlights so as to ensure I get to my destination. Range anxiety will become a registered illness before we know it. How many more accidents will be caused because the driver is constantly monitoring his/her range and also interrogating their sat nav and cellphone to find the nearest fast charger. Home charging from empty takes double digit hours. Electric cars cannot replace gas or diesel ones yet. Short range and slow home charging cripple the concept. And thats without mentioning the manufacture of the multiple batteries needed to fuel the vehicles is draining the earths ultra rare mineral resources at an alarming rate.

I like Doug but this review is terrible. He obviously tried to stay in good terms with the Audi dealership. 75k for 200 miles of range is a joke, and 5. 7 seconds 0 to 60 isnt great either for an EV. This car cannot even compete with the Tesla Model X which is from 2015 (which has 3 times the amount of cargo space. I wont even compare it to the base model 3 which costs 50 percent less, has better acceleration, comes with free autopilot, has 20 percent more range and comes with the supercharging network. This car is a total failure. It is going to flop, hard, and people who purchase it as sticker will lose 40k in depreciation over a year or two.

Just watching this again. For 85K I have to manually fold and put back up the rear seats? I get only 204mi of range? I have to pay 5Xs more per mile of range at Electrify Americas fast chargers and only have a few of them to choose from? I really dont think VWAG is doing enough to break out from the pack. This is not a Tesla killer. Its not even a Tesla competitor. Teslas supercharger network is what really makes Teslas the best ev you can buy.

I mean. a standard model X cost cost about 75k and have a range of about 375km (233 miles) and compare that to the e tron which is about the same price and the same range. whats the difference. at that point It's really up to personal preference. I would probably still go with the model x because of autopilot, but if autopilot and stuff like that didn't matter to you, I can see why someone would go for the e-tron instead of the model x.

So, Audi finally too the wrap off this SUV in India and is expected to cost. hold your breadth. an exorbitant 200, 000. Yep. almost the price of Rolls Royce or Bentley in The US or UK. You wouldnt want to know how much a Rolls Royce or Bentley costs here. And it still will fly off the shelf just like in a blink of an eye. Who said Indians dont have money.

Of course EV have to make a sound because it would be dangerous otherwise if people couldnt hear you. this is made obvious by the complete lack of deaf people in developed countries as they all fall victim to car fatalities. /sif you move forward, the driver sees you and its on him to not kill you. I DO however agree with a reversing sound.

The fake hum is horrible. sounds like cheap sci-fi movie. EV enthusiasts won t like it just like ice car enthusiasts would not like a fake engine noise under the hood. It is also completely unnecessary as EV s tire noise and real motor humm can be heard even at single digit mph, and my hearing is actually quite bad.

I really wish you talked about the grill Tesla has actually gone away from the front grill entirely since therea no ICE and it'll improve the aerodynamic performance of the car. You can see that the etron has a grill that is partly fake but actually partly real too. I wonder what they use that air for.
