When speaking about the 3 principles and applying it to their Kei car, I'm so waiting for the guy to laugh. Wait for it. Yes!
As a funny aside later on, the boys were asking about the 3 tail pipe thing, and the 88 dude says it's a Mickey Mouse emulation. It may not be universal, but in my age group, to 'Mickey Mouse' something is to half-ass it to make it work. I'd say, with interpretation for style, it still applies!
Add: Speaking of Mickey Mousing things, it was very popular in budget circles to get cheap insta-camber in the 80s and 90s to cut the springs. Rather surprised these guys didn't just hack it short!

Marty and moog I must say I've watched all your videos that I can possibly find on YouTube and I got to say I absolutely love your cars and the work you guys do I've done similar things to 4x4s and race cars.
Question is would you want to stick some stickers on one of my race cars as big as you want and as many as you want.
Your more then welcome to come to the UK and watch the race that the car would be in and possibly could arrange for you to take part in the races aswell if you guys are interested please contact me

Worst car choice for drifting, i know it was all you could get. However im not completely buying that either, it's a well know fact these guys love their little k-cars. Those s14's the 88's are using are cheap junkers probably not worth much more then what you paid. s14's can pull a good price if in good condition but these guys by the junkers because they; re only worth the money in scrap. Next time buy something alot more suited for drifting and give the k-cars a rest

One of the things i love most about Japan. The the idea of causing a scene is frowned upon so their society has the concept of two faces to avoid confrontation. So people express what they want, do what they want to their cars, dress the way they want ect. and no one will ever say anything or rip shit on you if they don't agree with it. People are free to express themselves how they like in a large sense. Australia should take some notes.

Watching this for the first time as 2018 comes to a close. That ending. damn. In so many ways we could learn so much from Japan, the Japanese people and the Japanese spirit. Every time I leave Japan it's sadder than leaving any other country, except maybe home.
Thanks MCM - even almost 5 years after release I think this is some of your best work. The perfect way to spend lunch time on a stormy Melbourne day.

I'm a relatively new fan of MCM. I appreciate what you guys do. But i especially enjoy these feature films. The friendship you guys have is great fun to watch and the respect you show to the folks you meet in your travels is important and admirable. My (4 yr old) daughter and I really enjoyed the smile reel of the 88's at the end of the film. Keep up the great work and i'll (we'll) keep watching!

Respect for Moog's music! It is great! Please don't feel offended or something, I was listening and I would just add some old style jungle style light drums in 4: 21 (something like you have at the end in The Roots - You got me. It would just be perfect in my opinion. BTW about Mighty Car Mods. It is something special. You are doing great job!

About the 3rd time watching this since I found MCM a year ago. Those closing credits still hit me in the feels - so awesome that people from such very different cultures can connect and bond over what was, at the time, such a nugget (and cars in general - loved the contrasts/comparisons between blow off valves and having alcohol in your system.

Mind blown loud blow off valves are jail. I find that the UK is odd with stuff like that too like in the UK your insurance goes up if you do pretty much any mod.
While in the US the only thing that is illegal is pretty much loud exhaust and even then that is a huge grey area and no one really cares.
