Please Stop Listening to This Crap William Taylor Payne: Can you do a video on consumer reports? They claimed Dodge was the most reliable of the big 3 American companies. And said the charger was the most reliable. And said the Challenger was the best car over 40k. Im not asking this out of bias since I own a Camaro and I was of the opinion the Mustang was the most reliable but instead an FCA car is? I figured Ford was the most reliable? I know chevy isnt but I was baffled that the Challenger scored nearly double the Mustangs score.

One good thing about push buttons is that you can either start the engine or shut if off. unless theres an electrical malfunction in the ignition circuit its virtually impossible to engage the starter on an engine thats already running with push button start. That being said, most late model systems with a traditional turn key wont respond you attempt to start a running engine. This is why you rarely hear about it anymore, every blue moon youll be sitting in a parking lot and hear someone accidentally grind their starter but its usually an older car. Most late models wont re engage it.

J. D. Power is supposedly for initial quality which I've never cared much about, because (a) it's easy to make a brand new car look/feel good even if it's crap, and (b) I've never been able to afford a car new enough to still be in warranty anyway. What I wish somebody would rate cars for is how easy and affordable they are to keep running when they're 10, 15, or 20 years old, long after the warranty is past. But they'll never do that, because they want you to buy (or better yet for them, lease) a new one every 3-4 years instead.

I purchased a new Honda Odyssey in 2015, went out to dinner with some friends came back, got into the car and pressed the start button, the starter did not engage because the car was still running. I failed to push the button before going into the restaurant, Talking to friends and the car being so quiet and it being the first push-button car I drove it was easy to do.

Scotty, I have a 2013 Mustang GT/CS, 30k miles. There is a creaking (not quite groaning, not quite clicking) sound when I press down on the break pedal. It only started doing this when the weather turned cold, and it only occurs when the break pedal is gently pressed. If firmly pressed there is no noise. The car stops fine. Thoughts on what the issue could be? Thanks

The other use for a tach with an automatic transmission is if it starts running strangely, you can look to see if the shifting is dropping the rpm as you go faster on a flat road. Also, it is for looks, especially for someone that used to drive a manual. The Lucas power steering pump additive might make it work quieter, a first try before a new pump.

J. D. Power may be unreliable, but you cant deny the fact that the current Hyundai Elantra (with the NA engines) is far more reliable than the new Civic. The Hyundai has 1. 6 or 2. 0 MPI engines that are rock solid. Also, the Elantra has a traditional automatic (not anymore for 2020 tho, while most Civics have CVTs and turbo engines.

that whole JD Power thing was started during television advertising in its infancy IMO just a marketing trick back in the days when people were very gullible and thought Television was way more honest than it really was people in general thought that al those old game shows werent rigged back then to find out later they all were

JD Power sometimes come up with amusing things. A while ago, they reported that the lowest customer rating for a new vehicle was the Hummer H1. The reason why these buyers didn't like their cars? They reported that new owners were unhappy because their Hummer H1's got lousy gas mileage. Geniuses evidently.

Hey Scotty, I have a 2007 Impala, for some reason my steering is constantly hard. I changed my tie rod ends 3 times this year, had a power steering pump changed, rack and pinion changed, lower control arms are changed and a magnet filter placed on the line but its still hard to steer. Any advice?
