Subaru - I Told You About This Car But Nobody Listened #2 Parker Riley: Fun fact. Toyota and Subaru share many parts in their vehicles makes sense. Toyota owns market share with Subaru. I've owned 2 subarus never had an issue. Both went well over 200k miles with no issues. Ford makes the best truck but nobody ever disses them when they have a recall every year. Every manufacturer has had a major recall. Why is it that when Subaru has a recall it's a huge deal. I understand this recall is a big deal but most of the time the dealers around me replace the whole engine without question. Hell Toyota's last major recall was a huge safety risk but everyone shrugged that off. Now I'm not a huge Subaru fan, but I do think they are good cars. I build them so I know what they are made of. I also built Toyota's and I can tell you quality management between the 2 manufacturers and basically the same. Just FYI

I told my GF not to get a lower end or older Subaru. She bought a 2018 outback. Fantastic vehicle. Almost bulletproof AWD system. Better gas mileage than 2 wheel drive hondas and Toyotas. More room, too. Last summer we loaded over 1500lbs in and onto it, drove from WI to the OR coast, down the coast, and back. Averaged 27-29mpg the entire trip. AC on the entire time. Engine lost practically zero power after the trip. Transmission shifting like new. You would be lucky to fit that much crap into a Honda or Toyota, much less handle the weight and get that kind of mileage.

Recalls are becoming more and more of a reality nowadays. Probably a combination of more ultra complex, computer controlled cars being used under harsher conditions, as well as manufacturers cutting back on real world r&d to save money. They are all guilty of it. At least Subaru are actually acknowledging the problem and announcing a recall when a fault became apparent, which shows they care a tad about their customers. Being a late model Honda owner, I know of at least one manufacturer which should have done likewise.

Scotty, Long time watcher, first time commenting I love your videos you have saved me TONS of money, not to mention that I trust you. I have watched so many of your videos that I am starting to get animated arm gyrations like you. I am a high energy guy and do alot of comunication work with the public and noticed it lately. Not only have you saved me some money and given good car care advice, but I learned a new way of expressing myself in comunication. Yes I have Italian blood, so I guess it is ok Thank you. Between all the Subaru's we owned we drove about 890000 miles with hardly any troubles at all. The Subaru vehicles seem to handle long distances way better then short shopping trips where the engine never warms up. Anyway, i think for us personally we would be worse off with 95% of the other brands that are out there than with Subaru. The brilliant Subaru AWD system makes the experience even better when driving on snow and ice for six months out of the year like we do.

Ed Punisher has been driving a Nissan Cube. How are you calling yourself the Punisher while you drive a Cube? That's on par with Hello, I am Granaxx the Devourer of Crushed Souls, and this is my VW New Beetle. Is he only the Punisher when his mom lets him have his pediatrician recommended 1. 5 hrs of online time each night? Or am I reading this wrong? Maybe it's him being punished by having to drive that Cube, but he likes it, because he's a naughty boy and deserves to be punished.

Currently own 2 Subarus (2017 and 2019. My family also owns one since 2011. All 3 of those have had no issues with engine or CVT as long as we change the oil on schedule. Recalls were said to be preventative rather than reactive and all were done in 15 minutes. The only issues with the 2011 have been related to tacky interior materials and seats, which are clearly cheap to cut costs. I would trust all 3 cars to get to work though, which is all I care about anyway.

Scotty people are hardheaded they do what they want. I am a car lover driving 2015 Nissan Rogue getting oil changed next week no problems keeping until looks like Flintsstone's car still doing well after 4 years rides smooth and comfortable. Subaru are safe cars they do have problems with head gaskets and transmission problems but heard they are the most reliable trouble free cars guess those were the older models. HAVE A GOOD NITE

Here we go again with the Toyota reliablity myth. I've had two Corolla's 1999 and a 2001. Both started burning oil at 80, 000. And I had a 1992 Toyota pickup truck. Same thing at 80, 000 miles, a Oil burning POS. I changed oil at 3, 000 miles and never drove them hard. Toyota has had as many problems as other car companies They just hide it better than the rest If you want a Toyota, lease it Don't buy one They're over priced POS
