There have been several versions of tubeless tyres, over the decades. In the '90s, Australia's T. V. show Towards 2000 (It may have been the later version Beyond 2000, showed closed-cell sponge inner-tubes, for bikes. They didn't require inflating, though. They resembled the type of insulation tubing used for outside of hot water pipes. They even showed a nail puncturing one of the demonstration tyres and the bike was able to keep on going, with no problems. Mysteriously, the product doesn't seem to have ever been released.

For hard-riding airless tires on 18-wheelers, the ticket would be cab air-ride kits. They're commonly available. I got a ride in a truck equipped with one and it was smoother than either my Tacoma or my Chevy 1-ton. And the heavy-duty 10-wheelers that don't have air-ride cabs often have air-ride seats. For autos and light trucks, one problem the very first owners of these new tires might face is theft. Looks like they can be spray-repainted fairly easily. (The tires, not the owners)

Scotty, I've heard you multiple times praise advances in technology, between new materials and new manufacturing methods the odds that someone will develop a commercially viable airless tire are only increasing. If they engineer the airless tires to have similar compressing characteristics to standard air filled tires then shouldn't it provide a similar ride? Easier said than done I'm sure.

Scotty, I've heard you multiple times praise advances in technology, between new materials and new manufacturing methods the odds that someone will develop a commercially viable airless tire are only increasing. If they engineer the airless tires to have similar compressing characteristics to standard air filled tires then shouldn't it provide a similar ride? Easier said than done I'm sure.

Hey Scotty, you told someone about using injector additives, and said if you bought reputable gas, they had cleaners built in. I thought that all the fuels got to distribution points and are almost the same. Some companies put in their own blends. I didnt think you could get any Poor fuels in this age. If you can, enlighten me as who not to get fuel from. Thanks, Pete from Dayton, Ohio.

Truck driver here. And your darn right about the ride of trucks. But theyre better than they were back when my dad drove. I remember when I went with on a short dive, home the same day load. I had to get into the sleeper and lay down as we went down the road because the shaking made my stomach start hurting. This was back in the 70s.

5, 000 lbs. huh? A fully fueled truck with a 1, 000 gallons split between 2 tanks, a empty trailer by Great Dane or Freuhauf & all the other goodies. tires, rims et al will put that rig over 5k without being loaded. 80, 000 lbs (40 tons) is what a tractor/trailer weighs maxed out. Stick with bicycles & be happy with that.

Both my wifes Subaru and my Toyota came equipped with Bridgestone tires. We almost crashed the Subaru at 15K miles due to poor tire performance. I couldnt get rid of those Bridgestones fast enough, I purchased two sets of Goodyear Assurance tires and now both cars are safer to drive. Never purchase Bridgestone junk

The kit is 100, then sealer is a dollar, fuel injector cleaner is a dollar, just get a husky 232 for 100 at home depot, probably take a day and 250 total, Pontiac is pretty fun car, might last another 10 years, then there's the transmission, might change the fluid just because it's a pontiac.

looking for some advice im looking at a 2007 Honda civic sport is there anything i should know about the 2L engine, i have also heard that since the engine bay has little working room fixing it if anything goes wrong can cost a lot and just whats your opinion on the car as a whole
