I don't see success with hybrids. Electric cars are smashing them to bits. Electrics are already cheaper, and will become cheaper. Not only that, but will be simpler and more reliable. Hybrids are just too expensive, especially as those things get older. Electric car batteries will last more than the car itself, no need to change them or worry about their degradation like today. 2026-7 will be a turning point. You'll see. Even Toyota is going to launch the Lexus UX300e, the first electric Toyota it seems. The downside of that is that it is made with a chinese (BYD) powertrain, not Toyota.

I had rented land cruiser 120 with 3 liter turbo Diesel engine. It was actually very fuel efficient plus it had a lot of towing power and very nice and relatively quick car to hang around with. My friend on another hand had some 80 series land cruiser with 4 liter person engine. It was terrible with fuel plus it had no power. If you plan to get land cruiser, dont buy gasoline engine one or you will be very disappointed coz real land cruisers arent meant to be petrol cars. Diesel only Plus. land cruiser diesels last a lifetime. unless you never change its oil

Scotty, I hate to disagree with you. Teslas competition is a decade behind Tesla. In fact, Teslas valuation is more than Ford and GM combined. Theres a reason for that. Whether it be Teslas electric motor, battery, AI technology, Tesla has them all beat. not only is Tesla leaving the completion in the dust at drag strips, they have done it with their technology as well. And I have not even discussed Starlink which is at the heart of self driving AI. Ford, GM etc all, good luck

Hi Scotty, I've hear that the ABS system turns off after the car is turned off, but the servo for the steering stays on a couple of seconds. Is this true and is it worth it, to turn off the car in snowy situations when you think the car won't stop in time? Say, going down a hill and you notice the breaks do nothing because the ABS is letting them loose. Turning off the car would let you build up some snow to stop you. Or is this just something people like ot think?

See, hybrids are outdated and when Toyota finally acknowledges the fact that it's the 21st Century & make an electric 4WD vehicle, we'll talk. The Land Cruiser doesnt sell because its way too expensive. So expensive in fact, that the Lexus version of the car costs the same price lol. 85, 000 base price for a Toyota is just way too much considering the 4Runner is similar in capability yet 36, 000 base. IMO dump the Sequoia and slot in the Land Cruiser OR at the very least keep the Sequoia but make the Land Cruiser 60-65k base.

Hey Scotty. Is a 1994 Toyota Camry with a V6 with 144k miles a good buy if it has no body rust or issues other than needing brake line? It was originally owned by a retired mechanic that had his wife driving it. He had gone over everything and maintained it throughout its life. He's just not capable of doing brake line on his own anymore. I think its a phenominal deal.

The new Land Cruiser would be more attractive if it actually looked like a mean off road machine, not a soccer mom's dream ride. As for mileage, I drive a '96 F350 crew cab 4x4 as a daily driver, but at least it looks the part of an off road vehicle. Jeeps tip over because they are too light. Just like Front Wheel Drive vehicles are useless in the snow. no weight.

There are so many good used cars here in the US for under 3, 500. I bought my '08 Yaris with 108K on it for 3, 200 and it's in great shape. Similiar deals like that exist on Civics, Corollas and Camrys (although they will probably be a little older for 3, 500. I wouldn't recommend the Accord, though--auto trans reliability was hit/miss
