I didnt listen to Scotty and bought a Nissan brand new back in 2017. I have to say it was a Frontier SV 4 door 4x4. Everything Scotty has said about Nissan seems to be ringing true honestly. The third day after driving the truck off the lot I went to have some Good year dura trac tires put on it and the guy from Good year doing the work came out and said your front two shocks are bad and leaking. I was upset but hey warranty should pay for them right? I go back to the dealership and they claimed that they cant get any shocks right now, its gonna be a week. So I parked it and week later same thing except 2 weeks now till they come in. This went on for 3 months still no shocks. Called the Nissan hotline and they said buy some shocks and they would reimburse me. Well that was a load of crap. I ended up buying me some new shocks lol. Nissan does not care what so ever about you after the initial sale. So needless to say after that experience I listened to Scotty, swallowed my losses, sold the POS and am now a proud owner of a brand new F-150.

Scotty, I always like your advice. I have saved a lot of money following the principles you talk about. I now own a Toyota Corolla 2017. It's perfect for me. It will probably run a long time, and I keep it going by doing the minor repairs. I also have a RAV4 2000. I bought it when it had 6, 000 miles from the wrecking yard. It now has over 143, 000 miles. I just replaced some of the smog emission parts (myself) and sailed through the DEQ If I owned a car company (I was a rep for one of the big three when I was in my 20's. If I owned a car company I would either build cars as good as Toyota or I would go out of business. I don't understand why the other guys don't do this

Vote with your money is probably the best advice I've heard in a while. It applies to many aspects of life, not just cars. Notice how, for example, the price of top phones and PC parts skyrockets. Why? We've had the technology for years, we're supposed to get better for less money, not better for 2 times more money. Stop buying overpriced stuff only so you can show it off. Same goes for cars. 50. 000 dollars/euros/pounds for a car? No freaking thank you. I'll buy myself a house (you can do that for that money in my country. If you can't, go on 25 vacations.

There's a paradox a decade ago that parts used in low cost models (ie, Dacia Duster) is able to used in entry cars of top brand (ie Nissan) to gain Cost Reduction Margins. Afterward, why not Premium brands use parts which already used in top brands (ie. Infinity. That is why the CR cycles developed the Quality Cycles in past decade. Every brands in this market got same strategy and that is why modern cars may not last over 300, 000 miles as decades ago models did.

Its not going to happen by far the biggest shareholder in Nissan is a Renault, Renault really owns Nissan, Renault makes good cars Ive had three of them, Renault is one of the best selling cars in Europe and other parts of the world, Renault made the mistake in the US of getting involved with A M C which was a bad move and finish them in the US thats the reason why Renault was interested in Nissan because Nissan had a strong presence on the US market

In UK French cars (Peogout Citreon and Renault) are crap and are only sold as they are cheep but extremely crap. They have a reputation of losing money and being unreliable. The Nissan brand has been dragged down to the French level. If they merged with say issuzu or Honda theyd do well. Again French products are made by French people, a nation stuck in the 1960s so 50 years out of date, you think French you think lazy arrogant and feckless and old fashioned.

The French government has major control of Renault, Peugeot and Citroen. Government bureaucrats running car companies what could go wrong? Its a repeat of when the Labor government of Britain started running British Leyland. Does the customer come first? Heck no. They have to keep the workers happy so theyll keep voting them into office. Quality down, sales down, no more French auto makers. Cant say itll be much of a loss.

in renault symbol and dacia logan, the french put a rubber bellow on the left-side driveshaft to hold the oil inside the gearbox, we all know that rubber with oil is not a good combination, the rubber bellow begins to rot and well you lose all the oil in the gearbox, if the owner does not know much about cars he or she end up ruining the syncromeshes and turning it into a 30's crashbox from the lack of oil

Just earlier today I was thinking about how I can see the 2020s holding an automotive renaissance, potentially being the next 1980s. Looks like I may be right with this guess. I was anticipating that Japanese companies would go back to what they used to be and produce great vehicles, hopefully some fun reliable sports cars as well. Hopefully they get a chance to do it.
