I finally disagree with something Scotty said The problem I see with hardwired USB ports is you can't change the type of USB ports you have. For example, i have a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (but this also covers a bunch of phones & devices. The phones like mine require a special type of charger to charge at max speed. Not only that but they are ALWAYS coming up with new & faster charging standards. The thing about the cigarette lighter/power port is that it is MUCH easier to upgrade the ports. Also, its vertically impossible to find the type of ports you need that can be hardwired into the car

Hey Scotty I have a huge favor of a question to ask you I recently bought a 2009 clk350 coupe and since the day Ive had it, it randomly turns off while Im driving but turns back on randomly or I may have to put the car in Neutral and try again and itll turn back on. it sometimes acts like it doesnt wanna turn on when the key is in and all the lights on the dash DONT turn on. ive taken it to 2 mechanics and the dealership. Ive gotten a new battery, crankshaft position sensor and a new key. I think I have an (EIS) problem but I dont wanna spend 1, 600 if I dont have to. any suggestions?

I bought a 14 year old SLK for my wife to drive in the summer months. The only parts I ever had to replace was the hydraulic trunk hinges, a vacuum hose and the headliner, about 200 total. She drove it for 7 summers and would still have it but she saw a new SUV that she wanted more. Even though it only had 100, 000 miles, which is low, I sold it for 2700 less than I paid for it but after all by then it was a 21 year old car. Scotty said that one was a good deal but I didn't catch the price. I heard him say the current owner paid 18, 000, but I didn't hear the current price.

Hey Scotty, I bought a 2005 SLK 55 AMG back in January of 2018 for under 20K with 50K on the clock and I absolutely love it. I do most of my own work, replaced DRLs for under 100 and replaced brakes all around including rotors (Brembos in front) for under 900. This is not a vehicle a person that runs to the dealer for every issue should own nor is it a daily driver but it is an awesome vehicle bordering on super car. Thank you for your honest assessment. I just recently bought a 2013 Fiat Abarth, yep I like unusual cars and I'm not afraid to work on them when needed.

Most cars of this age will have fault codes stored, it doesn't actually mean there are any faults that need fixing. They could have popped up due to low battery or some component has been disconnected e. g. when dismantling trim to install accessories etc. You need to clear the codes and then drive the car a few days and then put it back on the computer and see if any of the codes reappear.

HEY SCOTTY, Ive been having a problem with my Mitsubishi Lancer 2011. My engine will randomly rev by itself while stopped or approaching a stop. It will stop when I either continue to drive or change the gear. People have said it can be multiple things such as an idle problem, pressure valve, etc. I was wondering if you knew the issue was and can help me out. THANKS

Scotty that under care check was so lame. At work we lift the car up and check everything. If any filter or gasket has been blown off any oil stain on the transmission or motor. While the care is lift we wobble each wheel to make sure any axle are loose or any bushing are mess up, and etc. that you computer comes in handy but a manual visual check up is always better.

Seriously Scotty. The SLK55 AMG is such a rare car it's barely depreciating since Mercedes doesn't even build new versions of it with supercharged V8's. Just V6's. Nobody else is doing compact hardtop convertibles either. Aftermarket companies have much more affordable quality parts available than 10 years ago too. Soon SLK55 AMG's will be going up in value.

Those are nice little cars. I've seen a few of those around and I like how they look. Saw one once, black, gold wheel rims and while I'm not usually a fan of this kind of thing. it had an under-lit carriage and it actually made it look really cool. I think in part because that's all he did. Just some nicer wheels and the light and done.
