Hey Scotty, Im deciding between a 2017-2018 Toyota Camry or Subaru Impreza Sport, whats your opinion? Toyotas are known for their longevity, but with living up north, Subarus all wheel drive is also a nice feature. Ive heard good and bad about both in terms of reliability, maintenance, and drive quality. Im looking to obviously buy, so I would have this car for a number of years. Just curious on your opinion

No xD. Ever since I got a 2017 VW Jetta 5MT, I wished many times I never bought the car knowing I got bored after less than a year, and still paying 500 a month for it. My 1993 Lexus SC400 I bought for 1500 was a lot of fun and AC blow very/too cold compared to my Jetta. Sadly I appreciate the 1500 car more than the 21, 000. Never buying a new car unless I really really want to next time

The only truly good reason to buy new cars is crash worthiness. New cars are massively safer than only 15 or 20 year old ones. Fuel economy gains are also meaningful but not if you just lose all that in extra repairs and lower vehicle longevity. Those more intelligent and wealthy of us should only be choosing cars off the 5-star crash lists.

Scotty, where could I have my car scanned for codes without having to spend a fortune on a fancy scan tool. I work on my own vehicles so I do not have a trusted personal mechanicI live in Houston and would love to have you check on my car if youre available. 2015 Charger R/TIt has no codes now and Ive never had any problems from it.

Just bought a 2005 Acura TSX with a 6-speed manual with only 130, 000 its been kept in the owner's driveway and only put 30, 000 miles there's only one problem they claimed that the rear caliper is messed up so the parking break doesn't work so i have to park it in first gear and because of that the abs and vsa light are lit up

Where you been Scotty? I thought the car manufacturers had run you off. Ever since in the 1970's when Chevrolet had that floppy hood on their pick up trucks anddid absolutely nothing about it for an entire decade, I have completely lost any faith I ever had in the United States automotive industry. End of statement.

I have the same car in the same configuration and it's done me good so far. I don't have as many miles so I'm not in the stage where I'm to worried about it yet. I'm just going to do a valve cleaning and oil sometime soon. Can you check the valves with your bore scope and see how carboned up they are Scotty?
