This Car Will Put All Mechanics Out of Business Guest: This is why my newest vehicle is an '89 Thomas Saf-T-Liner school bus we're converting into our tiny home. Been living in it since early February. 100% mechanical. Being a formerly A. S. E. certified Master Diesel Mechanic - I can keep this old girl on the road for another 30+ years with the 10. 4L 3208 Cat and 643 Allison transmission. We're getting a new-to-us '90s Honda Acty Kei-van to fit in the car carrier we pull behind the bus. NO new vehicles, thank you very much. Ride on Heavy Fuel (our bus)

That problem; withholding information needed to fix cars, is symptomatic of the globalist approach to marketing. Just eliminate competition, and force everyone into buying certain products by REGULATION alone Then customers are a captive market that the monopoly companies can charge what they like for their products. To me, THIS is what we need laws to PROHIBIT (there are anti-monopoly laws now, but they are in-effective. That's why we need effective GOVERNMENTS to legislate AGAINST, not to be complicit with, that globalist/monopoly strategy. They do so only because it's easy, and the politicians get kick-backs for doing the globalists bidding (EU.

Actually a few people have shown teslas are easy to work on, much simpler. The worst though being the central computer. Tesla said dual motors if one fails you have time to get other one repaired. Batteries? 10 years or so. likely double lifespan soon. Not much to fail. a ordinary car? Leaking head gaskets, pressure loss, radiator leaks, oil, gas leaks, bad belts, tensioners, cooling fan, sparkplugs, wires, air flow, timing, etc. Sure Tesla has some things, but they won't be a necessity to fix like a car that would exceed noise if exhaust fails or falls off, or create check engine in which some counties have emission testing.

Tesla also does not have full service dealerships. Tesla does not have dealership service centers. You go online and purchase one at full price, that is the price. Lets face it these cars brakes and engines will last for a long time. I once rode in a 100 year old elevator that had an electric motor and the guy said the new models require more maintenance than the old one in the same building. The battery technology will only get better as we are all at the end of our current battery technology. New, cheaper, more plentiful, and faster battery technology is just around the corner.

I dont get why the odysseys fall apart. Theyre kinda the trouble child of the Honda family. Civics, Accords, and CR-Vs can last forever. The HR-V is relatively new and the Pilot has some of the transmission issues but not the engine issues of the odyssey which is odd considering that they have the same engine. Maybe Im wrong and the pilots do have those problems but I have a 08 Pilot and the engine still runs strong. No cam issues. Not even transmission issues yet. The discrepancy with the odyssey confused me

Thanks for highlighting the Right to Repair topic. My stance is that you don't have to give a right to repair, but not offering this opportunity is really a stab at the general after market market. By not providing a secondary repair source, they are able to protect their proprietary technology and for the time being as long as there is not a growth shoot in the amount of people buying Tesla vehicles they may be able to get more benefits then cons from operating under this philosophy.

Once you own a car, you should be able to fix/mod it in any way you want. You own the damn car. You should not have to go back to big brother manufacturer to get your expensive car fixed for an obscene amount of money. The government change the law on the OBD2 port so that it doesnt just apply to pollution issues. Truly disgusting that Tesla is doing that. The only way it could be fair is if repairs are free because then theyre not forcing you to give them more money

13: 08 its so true My parents have owned a 2001 sienna since new and they were in the same situation because its old its got lots of creaks and rattles but it still runs good and strong so they didnt want to get rid of it. They no longer trusted it for long road trips so they ended up buying a 2013 Lexus rx350. My mom now drives the Lexus and my dad uses the sienna to go to work with. The sienna has become that one extra car in the household

Farmers have the same problem with tractor makers. Oh your tractor broke down and it's 10 years old and out of warrantee? To bad. You can only let us work on it because we won't provide any documentation to you on how to fix it and we won't sell you spare parts. Hope you can manufacture every part on it IF you can even guess whats wrong. Tesla is their own dealership. The REAL money is made in the garage NOT on the showroom floor.

That's one of the reasons I wouldn't buy Tesla. If I want an electric car I'll wait for the Ford Mustang E. Meanwhile I would get a Toyota Rav4 plug in hybrid coming at the end of the year. Best of both worlds. First 35 miles all electric after that a 40 mpg SUV with twice the towing capacity of its gas counterpart and 0-60 in about 7 seconds on 305 hp. All this with proven technology and a good reliability record.
