Manuals may be simpler and reliable, but they are no longer able to compete with newer, stronger CVTs and Automatics when it comes to gas mileage and usable power band
I am a big advocate for keeping manuals on the road because of choice s sake, but I can also recognize that they re becoming a thing of the past that are no longer attractive to most drivers who prefer tech and convenience
The automotive industry is a business after all, and if you still want cars, you have to choose from what makes these companies money, and the cars that make money are the ones the majority want, whether you like that or not
Might as well adapt

Thanks a lot, US consumer market. The Fit is a very practical car fir its footprint. Yet the dumb consumers don't give a damn. Meanwhile, they go to one of those crossovers with bigger footprint and less practicality. I hope that one day, Honda can mock the consumer demand by designing a vehicle that cannot fit on city streets and yet has a very claustrophobic interior. They have mocked the consumer market before when the volume knob was taken away for a few years.

I suggest that when deciding whether or not to maintain a car or any asset, the amount of money spent to date is irrelevant. The only valid consideration is what is the means that will lead to the least net cost from now on to achieve the performance outcome you desire. The concept is sunk cost. The money is gone and only recoverable to the extent of the money you could sell the thing for today.

Re Nissan Titan trucks: one of the longest lasting trucks I ve seen in recent years is my friend s 2006) Titan 5. 6L. I ve known him a decade and the truck wasn t new when I met him! Dude still takes interstate road trips in it with no qualms at all. But he s a maintenance mechanic by trade so he knows enough to keep up a machine unlike probably 90% of Nissan car/CUV owners

I test drove a manual Fit several years ago. I m well over 6 feet tall and I fit inside okay. It wasn t a bad car. Honda could ve made some minor improvements and it would ve been a really great car! It probably would ve taken sales from the Civic though. Come to think of it, they discouraged me from buying the Fit at the Honda dealer.

Hey Scotty
Great videos, I learn allot from you. I also learned to be a bit savage like you. I hav a Toyota harrier build in the year 2000, it has over 200 000km. It takes 10w30 engine oil, standard. should I keep using that oil or should I switch over to 10w40?
should I use full synthetic or just synthetic?

I own a 2018 Honda Accord with standard transmission. Now do I know that Honda does not make anymore stickshift accord and also having a mid-gen refresh next year. Should it effect my residual value of my car adversely badly, when I sell my car?
It seems now nobody ever wants to buy a car with stickshift!

I dread the day my 8th Gen 2010 Civic Si Coupe dies. I love this car. Checks off all the boxes for my lifestyle. I dont like these new cars with all the technology just begging to go bad over time. 300, 000 Km and counting on this baby hopefully I can find a low KM replacement when the time comes.
