Subaru - Everything You Need to Know Up to Speed with Scotty Yang: I have a Forester 2015 on 120K miles. I will never buy Subaru again and will switch to Toyota, the CVT seems to have a mind of its own and not as nice to drive as a regular automatic transmission. The engine also has cam carrier seal problems, although doesn't cause problem other than the smell. Never Subaru again.

I have a '13 Impreza and at 80K miles, the CVT threw a code that one of the solenoids in the CVT valve body was bad. It is a common issue and Subaru will fix it up to 100K miles. The valve body has 6 solenoids so it is replaced as a unit under warranty. Cover is on top of the transmission and easy to get to. The car is still driveable but sluggish until it is fixed. After 100, 000 miles you are on your own, part is 800 plus at least 6 hours labor to replace and reprogram the CVT.
Dealer lent me a '19 Impreza loaner, much quieter car now, better stereo, etc but that car is part of a massive recall for the in-tank fuel pump. And I still haven't had my valve springs replaced under that recall for the '12-14 Imprezas and BRZs. Other than that, great car for the back roads of CT and unstoppable in winter with the right tires.

My 2020 crosstrek sport (Canadian) is made in Japan and gets 30mpg overall with the 4cylinder. I considered the outback and couldn't justify the extra money for what it offered.
BUT i also have a double cab long box toyota tundra so the extra room wasn't a deal breaker. Crosstrek still handles costco runs and taking my Newfoundlander to the dog park just fine.
If you have 2 large dogs you'd have to put the back sets down or pay the extra for the outback.

2018 Forester XT owner. love it. The 2. 0 turbo is a real sleeper. bought it after hearing turbos will only be available on 2019-newer Outbacks & Ascents. The FA 2. 4 turbo may also come in the upcoming WRX. So essentially, the 2. 0 replaced 2. 2 & 2. 4 replaced 2. 5. My subaru buddies tell me they can push 400 to 500hp before replacing internals (pistons, cranks, cams.

I leased a 2018 Outback for 30 months in Canada. I came across one issue related to the key getting stuck in the ignition switch because of some 'magnets' not sensing the car was in P. Other than that the car handled extremely well in rain and snow. Sure footed car, no slips, no hydroplaning, no torque-steer, nothing. feels like its on rails.

Just bought a Subaru Impreza 2020 hatchback CVT. Five days from the factory. 20, 000. Zero interest 63 months. Only way to beat that is get the 2. 5 liter Crostrek Sport, but it's 7000 more. Love the car. The engine cannot be more than 3, 100 to replace.

I have a friend who's dad has had 6 Subaru's, he won't buy anything else. He had a really long commute (150 miles a day) in the northeast's worst weather, they never let him down. They have really loyal customers.

I've been lurking and watching your videos for a bit without subscribing. Once I saw the Donut media gag I hit that sub button and liked this video. PLUS SUBARU! Keep up the great work! Lovin the vids.

Scotty I have a 2015 Subaru Impreza. The A/C works fine for a bit then stops blowing cold air. I turn the AC off for a bit and turn it back on, it's working again. What could be the issue with my car's A/C?
