Truth about Car Fax, while not 100 % accurate you can see things on there that can save you from even taking the time to go check out a vehicle. My wife and I are planning on buying a Lexus 350 RX, Or a Toyota Highlander. Either New or within a couple yrs of being New. Looking at a couple Lexus 350 RX 's on Auto Trader and Viewing Car Fax I notice several disturbing Items about several vehicles. IE ( one example ) Several 2019 RX with under 10, 000 miles ( FROM A DEALERSHIP near By ) that the Vehicles had the Alignment Checked repeatedly, like 5 to 7 times in under 10, 000 miles? Even a tire Replacements! They had several 2019 Lexus 350 RX's like this with Alignment Checks frequently? Now people might say did you ask they WHY? NO cause I wouldn't even consider one of these vehicles. They either were built right or came from factory with a known problem / Defect or were Damaged somehow! So while Car Fax isn't the Holly Grail for info if you can read between the Lines it can save you a trip ( like to this dealership which is 40 plus miles away ) These three different vehicles without these problems would of been worth giving a look at, but Car fax did save us the Trip! But Like Scotty SAYS OVER AND OVER HAVE A REAL MECHANIC Check out any Vehicle that not BRAND NEW! You never not what hiding inside that computer data!

I own a 2012 VW Jetta 2. 5 SE 99k mi, absolutely love the little black car. I ve had it only for a year, since it had 75k mi. It s a 9-year old car, spent all of its life in MN and now WI, but has no rust whatsoever. Interior intact, no problems that were the car s fault so far except that once at 92k mi I had to change the leaking valve cover gasket and the spark plugs (but those were due anyway. I did buy it with a history of auctioning for 6300. I saw the damage on the auction pictures and know it was auctioned off for 4300, so that wasn t a bad deal considering the auction fees and the repairs made (all cosmetical. I only bought it because I had to make a decision fast (within a day or two) and my only other option for that kind of money was a plain Jane red Civic with 135k mi, 60k more than the loaded Jetta. I knew I wasn t planning on keeping it forever, so I ll probably sell it somewhere between 120-150k mi. Yes, I do plan on upgrading to a Toyota or Honda SUV in the future but I think calling VWs horrible piles of junk is relevant only if they weren t taken care of by their owners even though they were made in Mexico.

Dad's friend was a vw owner. Was. In just a couple of hours in about a foot and a half deep water, the car got totalled as the repair cost exceeded the ex-showroom price. The dual clutch transmission was ruined. The electronics were drenched. The engine was flooded with water. The- so basically it was a total mess. And now the car loan company is screwing him over with foreclosure charges. He said Mujhe ab Volkswagen ki shakal bhi nahi dekhni which, in English, means I don't even want to see the face of Volkswagen again. It was his first love and he lost it just after a couple of months.

I drive a 2002 VW estate wagon as they call them here in the U. K. I paid about 1, 500USD for it and it is built like a tank! Of course European built is better quality than those assembled elsewhere or those that are made for export outside the EU. ALSO, since mine is a 2002 model, it hasn't got all that plastic crap, beauty cover over the engine, or electronic garbage with over 200 sensors on every miniscule part! My sound system is comprised of a basic radio and a cassette deck. but they sound GREAT! Would I buy a NEW VW? .ABSOLUTELY NOT!

I bought a late Mazda 3 to replace my 2002 Protege (323) but couldn t part with the 323 because it s immaculate and has never ever let me down- it s not worth much but costs next to nothing to own and it s still a great car to poodle around in. Luckily I live in a salt free area as I realise rust is the killer for older cars. If you want reliability a Japan built car is the way to go.

Talk about MADE IN JAPAN. I remember how good Sony was. Hitachi TVs were just beyond good. JVC. AKAI. NAKAMICHI. man the Japanese were killing it in the 70s and 80s. My best stereos were made in Japan. I remember when my dad tried to get my AKAI tape deck repaired. the tech laughed. i cant get parts for it. it was 20 or 30 years old. I have not even mentioned cars yet.

Maybe it is the starter relay that needs to be replaced and not the starter.
'The relay either sends a fully electrical signal or nothing. But, a damaged or worn out relay that has not failed completely may try to close contacts during on and off. The unsuccessful attempts result in rapid clicking sounds. ' (carsfromjapan)

What you saying scotty,
The new TRX ram 2021 6. 2L 702HP built for offroad won't last either and they have 2 other vehicles.
When you have a Expensive vehicle thats what you do. Its a weekend cruiser.
Very few do use it as daily driver because all the money is in the vehicle, only one they got

Mercedes has been doing premium small(er) batch productions for awhile now. Probably not as minuscule as Toyota is planning on doing it, so less special. Ever since they bought AMG; one person assembles the entire engine, then gets to put their signature on a plaque under the hood.
