Why Not to Buy a Toyota Corolla (Get a Fiat Instead) jake: My heart dropped into my stomach when I saw the exact 2020 corolla 2. 0 SE in blue crush metallic I bought a few months ago, was the thumbnail of scotty video scotty you can't be doing that with toytas!
EDIT: that is a 2019 or 2018 model. Man the new 2020s are such better looking than the old models. Love the acceleration with the 2. 0 cvt with launch gear. Anyone else own a 2020 and notice their cvt shifting a bit harsh when cold?

I used to tell people who complained about Italian cars that the problem wasn't the cars. It was the owners. That Italian philosophy was that people who owned a car would care enough to maintain them properly. So when the manual said a maintenance procedure was supposed to be done a 30, 000 miles, it needed to be done at 30, 000 miles, not 30, 100 miles. That the problem with Italian cars was American owners not doing required maintenance when it was supposed to be done. Now I'm not so sure anymore.

Scotty I got a 2001 Toyota Tundra with 154000 Miles on it. This coming spring i want to sell it and get a 03-10 silverado and was wondering how much I should ask for it.
Pros:
Runs almost like new
Cold AC
Interior and Exterior in good condition
Service Records from 40000 Miles (previous owner and i have written down every time we did something to the truck)
Oil Changed every 3000 Miles
Cons:
Parking Brake doesnt work
Paint has been chipped a few times on hood from rocks

2: 55 Hi Scotty, the German tanks especially Tiger, Panther and Kingtiger was the best engeneering and manufactoring this times. That they broke down to fast was a consequence of the material shortage after 1942. We havent not the materials for the alloys especially the transmissions needs and for the armor too. Btw, most of these tanks are blown up by the tank crew itself when they running out of gas. With the bad reliability of modern German cars iam with you.

What steams people about Toyota making boring cars nowadays is that they didn't used to do so. Back in 1992 Toyota/Lexus sold six sports/sporty cars. The Supra, MR2, Celica, Paseo and the Corolla Sport coupe AE92 on the Toyota side. The Lexus SC300/400 on the Lexus side. So why aren't they doing so now? What's keeping them from offering manual transmissions and sport trim models in their offerings?

Well. i have a 2020 Corolla now, before i had a 2006 Audi A3 1. 6 FSI. It actually did feel like it was hewn out of solid granite.
Mechanically and electronically it was absolutely dead reliable. Started up in the worst european alpine winter, never missed a beat.
I sold it at 90. 000km. It was still pretty much mint. All i did was regular maintenance and fresh brakes after 10 years.

Toyota's are boring because they handle like crap and don't look interesting even when they're new. This makes them similar to a Lada. Which is fine if they're very cheap (like Lada) but they aren't. I'm not saying I'd prefer an Italian car but would definitely prefer a middle ground so I wouldn't buy either. Personally would prefer a Ford, Mazda, Renault or even a VW to a Toyota.

Scotty, make a video about people who buy cars from Carmax. I have a good friend who works in a credit union. The first question he asks is who is the seller? If it s Carmax he says no but then for shits and giggles he asks to see the invoice. Sale price is always a couple thousand more than the car is worth on the market. He tells them Carmax will finance it but no one else.

- - Quality German engineering is a Myth! Germans spent 15 years designing the Berlin Brandenburg Airport and another 14 Years building it. There was over 11, 000 errors in the design from mechanical to major structural issues. They are currently 3 times over budget and are still not open even though it was supposed to open in 2012. - -

See the thing is italian cars in italy are pretty much bulletproof. Pretty much everyone either has a fiat and the police use alfa romeo's. I personally own a alfa romeo giulia with 138 thousand kilometers and i havent had any problems. It sits for about a year at a time from when i go to Italy and it starts right up fine each time.
