By november 10th 1966, BMW took over the GLAS firm, about the time the BMW 700 were produced. I did my car license on a GLAS 1304. GLAS cars were fine powerful cars. Hans Glas worked later on as a BMW manager (Werksleiter) in Dingolfing. The first BMW GLAS automobile was named BMW 1600, as a the result of the merger. A fine automobile that BMW 1600. GLAS was famous before making the Goggomobile. Rust was a big problem in all the chassis

When I was in high school way back when there was this one guy who had a 2002. He drove that thing like it was a Formula 1 car and it never broke. BMWs were solid in the 70s and into the 80s. It was around 2000 that I started hearing bad things about them, that they weren't reliable anymore and things like that. But, I still wouldn't mind having an M1. I just wouldn't drive it often.

Had a few. They were ok liked the 3 series m sport coupe conv had a 328. And a 525 which I sold with 175, 000 miles only problem I had with my BMW s were injectors on the 3 series. The 5 series was fine I just kept up my services and they were ok.
