Scotty I've been watching all your videos and I love and appreciate you. Can you please help me I just bought a 2007 Toyota Corolla in Nebraska I drove it back to Utah it was doing fine for a while but then I noticed it wasn't driving as smoothly I was going on a short trip I checked the oil and the transmission fluid the transmission fluid was low almost a quart mistakenly a friend put in a court of stop leak. I went on my trip and when I came back I took it back to Toyota dealer which is the only place I've taken the car to be serviced both in Nebraska and in Utah since purchasing. I told them I was losing transmission fluid could they please check it out they checked it said it was a half a quart low and then when they'd serviced it before they don't normally top off fluids but it would have been mentioned in the notes it wasn't mentioned and what he told me when I left was they can't find any leak it may be a catalytic converter which I can drive on for a long time before I need to fix it. I felt very disappointed as I've had several cars and this car was going to be different I was only going to take it to the dealer where I felt I would get top notch maintenance and service. I know this is a long message but I'm frustrated and I'm a single woman and live in a rural area and I have to drive most days 50 MI and at least three times a week a hundred miles to go to a major town for supplies and for my caregiving job so keeping this car is crucial to me. I've put down cardboard I parked it in the carport I haven't seen any leaks I don't see any leaks in the engine period what do you suggest I'm considering selling it but I just don't want to have to go through the whole car buying thing again if this can be fixed. Thanks again the car had 89, 000 mi when I bought it it now has 95, 000. Your fan Sabrina

well i figured as much, considering that i've made parts for Mercedes and ye gods n little fishes. Scotty you think the ELECTRONICS are crazy? cmon over a lil East to Alabama and i'll intro you to some folks who can show you what it takes to make JUST THE TRIM PIECES! inside the cabin for the Vance, Alabama GLE SUV, GL SUV, and the GLE Coupe.
there's MANY pieces the factory i used to work in last year made. well. if they ever decided to reopen. hahahha! considering Vance reopened back in April. lol! after watchin this vid. heh. ah well. those nice folks over in Vance need a paycheck too! so be nice to Mercedes Scotty. well. be a smidge nicer! ;)

These new technicians don't seem to know how to troubleshoot mechanical things. they plug the shop computer in and it doesn't know. it's trying to compensate for mechanical failures by stating electrical issues and you end up on a wild goose chase and it takes a while to get up to speed with all this stuff especially being the cost of the diagnostic computers. A cheap decent one is at least a couple of hundred bucks but you can spend into the thousands, way into the thousands and before you know it, it is Obsolete and then you're buying something else or farming it out to someone else. I miss working on the old stuff. Hell, even into the 90s.

LOL. half of mercedes owners dont know what the buttons do. FACT. My dad has a benz ML320 4matic. He REALLY REALLY doesn't know what half of buttons do. he yells at me stop touching them because he doesn't know how to reset them.
Benz is elite company, the problem is that if you cant afford it don't buy it: ) the interior of a benz is another world compared to toyotas or hondas, but but the problems a benz can give is way more because the technology is way more advanced so more problems occurs.

Scotty, when someone asks you about buying a Mercedes or brings one around for you to patch up, have, you're gonna get your fingers burned from the Alan Parsons Project album, Eye in the Sky playing somewhere subtly in the background. Here in Australia it's the same story. I know a bloke who does customer shuttle work for a Mercedes dealer and he reckons it's an endless procession of cars through the dealership with busted elec and computer systems. What a joke

Hi Scotty. Do you have a relative who suffered at the hands of Germans during the war? You seem very down on German cars. I've had my 12 year old Merc for 5 years now, It's a big V6 diesel and apart from normal service items like tyres, and brakes it's had just a couple of minor faults that were fixed by my local German car specialists really cheaply. I don't get where your're coming from.

Let's be honest uncle Scotty from watching your videos i worked out its cheaper to own german brands in europe than it is America. They are actually made better in Europe and cheaper to maintain.
Also you mention it has 11. 9MPG it is however a CLS 500 not a CLS 320 CDI.

_Certified Mercedes Tech here, everything in this video I concur. 60 point check is mandatory whether new or old, and you better find more than one fault, or you get a speaking to by the Service Manager. Service is what keeps a dealer's doors open, not new car sales. _

The question really is if just the HVAC fault code is only one of 42 fault codes and 1, 200 for just the part, no install labor, tax, etc added in yet, how much do the other 41 fault codes grand total to fix? 10, 000, 20, 000, 25, 000++? Oh yeah gotta be lovin' it.
