Scotty these are awesome cars!
They didnt skimp on qaulity materials back then.
You would probably love my
98 Toyota Caldina GTT ST215. Im in Australia with more grey import choices.
Basically it has the same running gear as the Celica GT but in a Wagon.
I can certainly testify how incredible the build qaulity of that era was. The reason alot of Japanese imports are in such good condition with low Kms is because alot of them were basically weekenders due to most people using trains. Also they have annual road worthys in Japan according to a friend of mine there.
When you pull up to a gasoline stand in Japan they give you a cloth to wipe the dash, they definitely have a high general maintenance standard.

Ok ok ok for the record I love the states! I also love my scotty auto time but. its America who have things backwards so hear me out. Celcius has the freezing point of 0 and boiling point at 100. Makes more sense huh? And driving on the left while seated on the right comes from the ole horseback days when riders would pull up and shake hands with the right hand. Also makes sense. Btw would you rather have your right hand on the wheel or the gearstick? I'd rather have my strong arm in control of the vehicle thanks. Sorry to burst bubbles but metric things make more sense to me. Keep the vids coming Scotty. From your friendly kiwi fan Troy.

Hey Scotty,
What do you think about using the right stuff to replace my water outlet housing gasket? I have tried replacing the gasket, replacing the gasket with sealant on both sides, allowed proper cure time before refilling coolant, made sure everything was clean and dry, and used proper torque specs. Before it was a constant drip, but now it s just seeping a little. If I let it sit overnight and run my finger along the bottom of the seam I can feel coolant; not much, but more than I m comfortable with. Do you think using The Right Stuff in place of a gasket would be better in this case?

It's ironic that the US says you can't import newer than 25 year old cars, and one of the issues is pollution. Yet the place is full of v8 petrol pickup trucks and they class 25mpg on the highway as good gas mileage

Prefer my BMW E34s because of no cracking sounds, better sound isolation, the engine sound of the NA straight-six engines and a few other things, but this too looks like the kind of car I'd love to have: D

In Australia, the price kills a lot of things from being imported and sold, but if you are well off or have a good job, there are people in a position to purchase such vehicles.
