My Car Smells Like Crap, You Won\'t Believe Why alan connelly: My favorite Porsche 911 story. My neighbor had a 911 Carrera. Took it fir a drive to cars and coffee in Denver. Noticed it had low power and started smelled funny. When he hit to cars an coffee smell was bad. Opened trunk and found the air cleaner full of dog food, he pulled the air cleaner filter which dumped a bunch of dog food onto the engine into every hidden crevice. for moths his nice oarsce sneer lled like cooking dog food. He was cleaning his car for cars and coffee leaving the trunk open to take a buisness call. Turns out his 2 year old daughter put the dog food in the aircleaner. He asked why. She said it was hungry. true story Lol

Theres another cause for the rotten egg smell. My 15 Focus ST had a failed evap purge valve that was eventually replaced on a recall. Once or twice per tank full, the car would begin to idle rough and produce this sulfur smell. This occurred many many times over countless tanks of gas, so I know it wasnt bad fuel. I was worried that this was going to ruin the catalytic converter, and perhaps it would have in time if so hadnt replaced the purge valve. actually they replaced the whole fuel tank and fuel tank sub frame assembly because the failed purge valve pulled a vacuum on the tank and partially collapsed it.

I've been working on cars almost as long as Scotty. and my dear fellow Scotty fans. it's apparent that Scotty has forgotten that both Fiat and Chrysler Corp were perfectly capable of building truly awful cars without each other's help before the merger. To be fair. occasionally Chrysler Corp screwed up and got some cars right, not sure if the same can be said of Fiat. As to Land Rover division of Tata, makers of the Nano in India. The Nano is going out of production because Indians would rather squeeze their family of six onto a motor scooter than drive their Tata's in public.

When I moved to the Tacoma area in 1980, I thought sure an old sandwich came back to life and died, or something as drastic, but it turned out to be THE TACOMA AROMA, not my car. Whew; -) Learned after dismantling the station wagon and finding it clean as a whistle, and my buddy informing me of the phenomenon of the industrial putrefied stank competition in the Tideflats back then. Niagara Falls in the 60's never smelled as nasty as Puget (pungent) Sound in its day. Funny how chemicals smell better than wood pulp and animal carcasses.

Scotty. 2: 20 Jaguar Landrover made a big mistake by building their cars in China. The Chinese want british cars built in the Britain, not in China You would be very hard pushed to tell them difference between a uk and chinese built cars though. The Chinese are masters of knock off counterfeit stuff which they don't buy, just sell it to everyone else. I've heard rumours of them getting into bed with Peugeot.

Nissan advertises they have safety & tech features that the Toyota Camry doesn't have, so they think the Nissan Altima is better than the Toyota Camry. Nissan does have Android Auto that Toyota doesn't have. Toyota is so slow to update the technology in their cars and have been fallen behind. The Entunes 2. 0 multimedia system they kept putting in until 2019 model year is outdated.

G'day Scotty from Australia, well you talk about Nissan, I've own Nissan's since 1980. 80 Bluebird, 89 300zx z32, 90 Skyline R31, and just this week I bought a 08 350z. The only one I have had to spend a fair amount of money on is the z32, which has now done 300, 000 kms. Anyhow its all about preference. I love em. Seeya mate.

Certainly don't use the glue to fix your headliner. It only works for a little while. But also, it destroys the headliner itself. (Like it'll be hard and darker in color from it being wet when you first applied the glue) Just pin it up with thumb tacks. Until that rips, then cover the whole thing or pay for service.

Hey Scotty, I'm thinking of buying a 98' Lexus ES300 with 247k miles as a bucket car. Both the interior and exterior are in great condition and it looks as if the car is maintained properly. He is asking for 1900 but I want to try and get it for lower than that. Do you think it's worth buying and using as a daily driver.
