I have a 2002 chevy venture, and i am never getting rid of it. Why? Because it is a basic car, and i know it. I rebuilt head gaskets myself at 75, 000 the transmission myself at 160, 000. Along with those jobs were brakes, sensors, hubs, full suspension, and switches, etc. oem, quality aftermarket (moog, gates, timkin' etc) and used parts are all inexpensive on ebay. Front brake job cost me 15. I have apple car play radio, and LED headlights and tail lights, etc. buying a planned obsolescence car as my daily beater scares me. This van really had a tough life, and i doubt many other cars would be able to take the abuse my van took in the 18 years we owned it

Increasing the thickness of bearings wouldn't help anyway, surface area yes maybe if you can avoid high bearing speed ( and heat from that) etc just to help spread out the wear and load etc but thicker bearings don't matter. Never will you loose oil pressure from going completely through a bearing, it will lose all oil pressure FAR before that lolololol. I am not doubting Scotty just agreeing the manufactures are full of crap Basically the companies figured how to get a smidgen more MPG increase planned obsolescence all for the price of some software modification. It would be worth getting buddy buddy with a programmer just to eliminate that function

Explain a grinding feeling / noise coming from front disk brakes where, on inspection, the pads and rotors look perfect. This happens at the tail end of hard braking, when the vehicle moving at about ten m. p. h. or so, slowing to a stop. It is not ABS, I know what that sounds and feels like. The calipers are free to move on their sliders, and the pads are properly aligned in the calipers. It is fine during normal driving, so I have elected to keep driving it to see if the symptoms go away, or get worse. Frankly, I am stumped

If you are in the car community, you know why it's toxic. #1 everyone thinks you have the wrong car#2 everyone thinks you are doing the wrong mods or using the wrong parts for maintenance or just doing your maintenance at the wrong times#3 everyone thinks you are using the wrong cleaning/filters/tyre/oil/additive products#4 everyone thinks you are spending too much/not enough money on your car for what it's worth, or they think it's worth. #5 everyone thinks everything you are doing is wrong and they know better

Corrupt mechanics are worse in Canada, you can't find an honest one here. When they do an oil change here they will show you dirty filters that are not from your vehicle just to overcharge you with their scams. It is the same for Jiffy Lube, Canadian Tire, Minit Lube and all the franchise garages out there as well as the independent garages. Your only choice is to find a retired old school mechanic who has a hoist in his garage.

Damn the China King is making oil, great place to get guns cheap too They have a handful of exotics that they fire sale from time to time. I disable the start stop on my wife's Vovlo xc90 all the time. Its cpo ed to 7/100 or I wouldn't own it. It's an r design polestar, so it's a total sleeper, but with a 36 hp boost with the pole star, I bet it grenades before 100, then I get a new engine no questions asked and stealership installed

Ignorance is just that, when people don't realize how little they know they can think that they're a genius. My brother, a truck driver of 30 years, was telling me about a guy in his early twenties that was at the dispatch and boasting about his incredible driving skills. My brother kept from embarrassing the kid, but told me he has probably driven backwards in his career farther than that kid had driven forwards in his.

Thanks for the Video. I don't know about toxic, I think there are a lot of very inexperienced people that have been given a lot of really bad advice, but they trust what they have been told because they don't know any better. Its the same with Firearms, Pets, you pick a topic and you will find an expert with no experience except what they read on a Forum someplace, and that makes it Gospel.

I know a few more reasons why there is hate in the car community, some people not knowing the personal boundaries to other people's property in terms of their car. Also some people are jerks and have no respect for the new people who are trying to fit into the car scene. Some people talked badly upon the newbies that it's no wonder why some the newbies felt that they're being pushed away.
