Im Sorry I Have to Admit Electric Cars are Better Because John Urbanek: My idea for the electric car world is to have every manufacturer making a standard for the batteries and designing them to be quickly swapped out. So when people are on a road trip, instead of waiting 2 hours for a super charge, they can pull into a gas station like place that drops your old battery and shoves a freshly recharged one back into in just a few minutes. Then that old battery can be put on a dedicated charger waiting for the next customer. Kind of like when you get bottles for a welder or torch, or propane even, you buy the first one full price and after that it's just an exchange fee.

The Chevy Vega was the only car that the grill between the hood and the windshield rusted The GM assembly plant that made them is the same one that made over the years, the Chevy Biscsayne, Chevy Van, Cavalier and its Pontiac sister, including some that were sold in Japan, the Chevrolet Cobalt, and the Chevy Cruze sedan but not the hatchback, which was made in Mexico. This is the GM East Assembly plant in Lordstown, Ohio, just off the Ohio Turnpike and only a few miles from Warren, Ohio (Original home to the Packard Automobile and for decades, Packard Electric which made GM wiring harnesses and GM spark plug wires) General Motors shut down this modern, well updated plant in February in violation of the United Auto Workers Union Contract in effect through September 2019. The plant has no current product assignment and is shuttered, with a skeleton crew of skilled trades and building maintenance personnel maintaining the high tech equipment inside. An electric truck manufacturer from The Cincinnati area, named Workhorse, is considering the purchase of the plant from GM to make electric Postal trucks with a drone that flies out of its roof with light packages and can place its load on porches of houses while the mail personnel deliver mail. It is unknown if it will have autonomous driving features that would allow it to follow the driver or go back to the Post Office and get more mail loaded into it then return to pick up the mail personnel still working the route. Workhorse does not have a current contract with the US Postal Service that would necessitate the need for the Lordstown Assembly Plant.

Electric drive is just plain superior to combustion engines. You don't see combustion engines used anywhere electric motors can be used. And now that better batteries are available, electric drive will take over the transportation applications too. The only moving part in an EV is the rotor in the motor, the simple single speed gear reduction unit, and the drive shafts to the wheels. About a hundred times less moving parts than in a combustion engine. EV's are just way more reliable. A lot of mechanics will be out of work or at least working for car museums.

Are you kidding? Did the electric car lobbyists threaten your life like all the rest of them? I don't care if you have an electric FERRARI, who wants to wait 8 hours to recharge and only drive 100km? What's wrong with you dear SCOTTY? BE REAL DIESEL and then the rest Why, because when I make oil from hemp seeds, I take the oil and put it in ANY DIESEL and it functions Take a handkerchief and put it to the exhaust and it stays WHITE NO POLLUTION. EVERYBODY CAN GROW THEIR OWN PETROL IN THEIR GARDEN AMEN 3x.

Fun fact about Tesla, he didn't invent A/c current or motors. His big credit is patenting a 3 phase a/c motor in the USA. Funny thing is that the same year Tesla went to the US, Galileo Ferraris who pioneered the 2 phase a/c motor, published a paper on how to make a 3 phase motor. 3 months later and with no prior research to prove his claim Tesla patents the 3 phase motor. And they say Edison was a thief, but at least he payed for and supplied the environment for the inventions he put his name on.

Actually, the battery is the second to last thing to worry about in an electric car. Both motors and batteries can easily go for 1, 000, 000 miles. Take Tesla as a point of reference and it comes with 7 years warranty but. as soon as it's over you will pay an arm and a leg for replacing a door handle assembly (1, 100) or any other electro-mechanical gimmick that could go out. The part numbers are hard-coded into its computer. But on the positive note, Tesla is the future.

An electric motor will last MILLIONS of miles. It will outlast you, your children and probably grandchildren. An electric battery will last 100'000s of miles if you maintain it properly (not constantly charge and discharge. Tesla's OLD batteries (Model S, 92% capacity after 160, 000 miles. Some Model S owners have driven 500, 000 miles. Tesla (in partnership with Panasonic) makes the best batteries and EVs.

i'd love an electric car, but make it the manly way2 speed standard is enough, but PLEASE have straight cut gears and a engine sound synth, but have every single engine sound sampled in a computer, so that you can select it in drive4a-ge, 3s-ge, 2jz-ge, b16b, 13b, 20b, chevy 350, hemi, audi 2. 2aby, aan, 2. 0abt, ace, 1. 6ada, 1. 8 16v 115hp (don't know the code, 1. 8t apx, you name it.

Scotty, I researched EV batteries. If I recharge my car once a week and keep the charge between 30 and 80 per cent, I should lose less than 3% of the battery capacity in twenty years. If I do most of my charging in level 1 level 2, even better. I fast charge only on long trips. My range is 455 km. So am I worried about the battery? Not at all.

I'd like to see how reliable their batteries are in the winter before I'd even agree with electric cars being better, I've heard a few local Tesla owners here in Buffalo, NY traded them in because they kept having to replace cells. Probably would be great for Cali, Florida, even Texas. Around here, wouldn't waste the money personally lol
