Back in the 60's, I taught myself to pick locks after me and my siblings were accidentally locked out of our house after school. I think I started with a crappy pick set ordered from the back of a comic book. My first arc welder was also ordered from the back of a comic book. It couldn't melt solder but it was great for blowing fuses. BTW, the x-ray glasses didn't work. I made a custom set of basic picks in 7th grade metal shop. They're still viable for many locks. I've never illegally broken into a property or stolen anything. Family and friends benefit from my hobby when they're temporarily lock challenged. :-)

Scotty, my 2013 VW Jetta S (automatic transmission) doesn't seem to want to down shift when I'm coasting and suddenly need to accelerate. Instead it just maxes out at about 2k rpm in a higher gear and makes an obnoxious roaring sound. Lately, I've been driving it in manual to avoid the problem. Is this a transmission problem, a computer/electrical problem, or both? It also sometimes loses power in rapid spurts when in gear 2 trying to accelerate. The dealership thought it was misfiring and replaced the spark plugs, coils, and wires. 700 later and this solved nothing. Help

Scotty, my '08 Toyota Sienna's ABS (Trac) and (Anti-slide) warnings start sounding off on curbs and grades, I changed out the rotors and pads as well as cleaned out the ABS Sensors but that hasn't worked, what can you recommend me, it's driving me crazy. I did take out the fuses for the same and it as you recommended in a previous video, and it stopped the issue, but I would like to correct the problem without taking out the fuses since it rains a lot in Florida, can you help me, please?

Hey Scotty I have a question for you. So my uncle just passed down my grandpas 1997 Chevy Silverado mark 3 for my first car. We drove it home from Indiana and when we got back home, we brought it to get inspected. We realized that it had a TON of rust on the entire underside. We were told that it would take 4 grand to get it road worthy again. It has the original engine in it and it has been rebuilt once. It has over 210 thousand miles on it. Do you think that its worth fixing?

Finally got rid of my MINI Cooper aka, the MINI-PIT. I agree, throw the BMW away, unless you love helping Euro shops live large with all the money they take and squeeze out of you I also owned another BMW, I didn't learn that lesson, that blew a headgasket and went out, all the pressure the engine just failed one night and it was a like a rock concert with all the white steam surrounding me and coolant rivers everywhere.

Hey I might be getting annoying but for a few days now Ive been asking opinions about a car I wan to buy but not even other people tell me their opinions. I want a 4 cylinder brand new mustang and my question is: is it better to get a manual or 10 speed automatic? All opinions and comments are accepted. This is a big deal for me and I want to get the most information before committing to a new car

Scotty, My 2007 Mercedes R500 with 156k mi has developed some exhaust smoking after brief idling, and sometimes on acceleration. Oil consumption is still reasonable, but 6+ a qt for quality fully synthetic oil wouldn't it be worth it to do the valve seals(or could this be something different? Also, why does Mercedes short their brake pads short of the full diameter of the rotors?

Volvos (through the P3 platform) are NOT endless money pits My family has two V70s, the older is 17 years old. Neither have required more than standard services. I maintain them both at a high level and plan to daily that 2002 for the rest of my life. The NA 5-cylinders are very durable, as are the transmissions (if you're competent.

' I'm with you on that one Corporations have bamboozled us all, now we're bamboozling each other. The only ones who's going to have to pay are our Children. Now then Later. Lord help us
