I Finally Found a Good Nissan LordChameleon: My sister bought a 2014 Nissan Altima brand new and she only had it for about 18, 000 miles and a little over a year. During that time, it needed a transmission, fuel injectors, fuel pump, A/C work and 3 infotainment system replacements. Luckily it was all covered by warranty and she could Lemon Law it over the infotainment system. Piece of Junk

I have an 08 Titan. Mechanically it is sound at 160k miles. Electrically, it is crap. Instrument cluster is out, rarely blinking on for a few seconds every couple of weeks. Power windows dont work. Weatherstripping is crap, falling off everywhere and leaks. After a heavy rain I can open the doors and pull at the bottom of the door seal, water will pour out. None of the steering wheel controls for radio, cruise control etc work. But. its paid off. So drive it til the wheels fall off. Which has only happened once so far.

I really wanna buy a G37 now Scotty, I almost bought a G35 Sedan about two years ago for 4800. It only had like 110k miles, but had a lot of leaks or something when I got it inspected, also the tires were awful. I ended up with a Lexus ES330 (2006) that is immaculate and drives like a dream, but it had 180k when I bought it, now Ive got 216k. Anyways I really want a G37 now cuz they look so good and theyre really fun to drive, or maybe I should get a Lexus GS430/460. Not sure which I should get. I want both

Hey, Scotty I'm looking to buy a new (0 mileage) Honda Civic Hatchback(10th Generation, the last one) with the 1. 5 turbo engine and six speed manual transmission(I'm from Europe) Also, it has the Adaptive Damper System. What's your opinion on the car, in general, engine, transmission and the damper system. Also, I've read some things about the rev hang that's present on the car, supposedly making it harder to shift faster and some oil dilution problem. Thank you

Scotty, you should really point out what are some easy data PID's to check whether a car is still running fine. Since you can buy scantools that can read the generic OBD data for a few bucks these days, it can be a handy tool tool bring along when you're buying a used car. Things to really check for are Long Term and Short Term fuel trim, O2 sensors (especially the post-cat one to check if the cat is going bad, if the engine goes into closed loop. Etc.

I sometimes hear people say things like Well I've had it for years and had no problems. Yes, but how are you using it and are you just lucky? Your customer is probably one of those who just happen to have been given all the parts which work well; OTOH her neighbour might have the same model but it's a 'Friday car' where everything breaks. And that's the thing with the poorer marques; it's like playing vehicular roulette. Some win, most don't.

Great video scotty - I own a jdm V36 in Australia and really appreciated this one. Theyre great cars in my experience, I purchased mine this year and feel its reasonably reliable as long as you look after them despite the renault influence. The Barra guys absolutely hate it: ) Cheers for giving me the confidence to know I made a good decision

I owned two Nissan maximas, one a 2010 ran over 150, 000 miles, currently driving a 2012 with 100, 500 miles. the engine never burns any oil which is impressive. I change oil every 8000 miles and always check fluid levels. it never burned a drop of oil the level was same both cold and hot. that Nissan v6 is super reliable

Nissan in Europe has always had on average very good build quality, even after they merged with Renault, the only thing that did was bring Renault's quality up, but of course, newer cars are less reliable than older cars. IDK why in the USA people perceive them as unreliable, they are probably built in Mexico.
