The Truth About Toyota and Honda Merging Luis Ignacio: I buy a toyota aygo basis because you say toyota is good, but it is terrible. This car is bad ingenieured. The windows dont get air, you cant switch the air from in to outside, if i start the air all of outside came in(the tree things ) and if i put somethibg in the back always the big thing at the back from car dont go down and i cant see back, so i have to put it manually away. This car is not userfriendly. And now (aygo 2006) i have to go to the repair because a window can fall and kill someone on the streets? Really a bad car

If Toyota and Honda merged they would fatally cripple Ford an General motors to the point of no return Imagine Toyota and Honda producing a pickup that would have the greatness of an Accord and Camry and built with the natural indestructibility of a Corolla Plus imagine the combined power of Lexus and Acura. they would crush Cadillac, Mercury, Lincoln, etc, and Chrysler would become extinct overnight, but I do think RAM and Jeep will have better chance of survival if they can permanently separate themselves from Fiat and become a single American company again. Pray that Toyota and Honda never ever merge One thing is for sure in the not too distant future, Subaru will most likely be acquired by Toyota and that alone would produce a major shake-up in the automotive world, Toyota has the cash to do whatever it wants and they are not afraid to do it.

I would rather see Mazda work with Subaru. Mazda would benefit from Subaru's superior WRC-derived AWD suspension technology and boxer engine design, and Subaru would develop a more refined aesthetic sensibility from Mazda's superior interior and exterior design language. Both Mazda and Subaru are smallish independant boutique automakers and would greatly increase their survival prospects in the coming years by sharing their R&D, production and distribution network costs, as well as their winning motor racing experience at Le Mans and in WRC. As the ancient Asian proverb teaches, it is easy to break one bamboo chopstick, but when chopsticks are bundled together, they are strong enough to kill a tiger. Thanks.

Hey Scotty John from up in Winnipeg why dont you talk more about American made cars but do the same mechanic work applies to them like the power steering fluid power fluid changes. Ive got the 2012 Impala with the V. V. T 3. 6 engine and the check stabilizer link check ABS and the abs light and the traction control light is on and when I turn to the right Ill hear a bit of a grinding on my front wheel what do you think it could be. I hooked my old in innnova scanner and its just reading DTC code. Id like to get it fixed before those cold winter days come its already dropping down to -2c

My first car (at least what I call my first car as it lasted more than 2 months) was a 1984 Chevy Citation II. That car had been in 2 major accidents and 4 minor ones and still ran like a clock. I owned it for 5 years before it blew the head gasket and the rear brakes failed. Between my wife who owned it before I met her and myself, we put almost 85k on it. I miss that car as it was one of the very few that sat outside and started when the actual temperature was -29 Nothing Ive owned since has compared to it since.

I vote for the new company name to either be Toyhonda or Honyota. First car 94 Acura/Honda integra LS automatic, second car 2000 Acura Integra GSR which I still have, and third car is my daily E92 BMW 335i lol. Love all of'em. Great fun, but I only drive them respecfully. BMW has a bad rep. but honestly I've been trouble free for the last 2 years I owned it. Only real issue is the cheapo plastics in the engine bay, the coolant resoviour cracked. 300 at bmw to do, but worth the fun in my opinion.

Different philosophies. Soichiro Honda was all about engineering less is more hence why the accord didnt get a v6 till 1995-1996ish. Also why 1st and second gen legends were FWD even though they had a longitudinal engine layout. Look at the gauges and dash on a late 1980s honda looks much less dated than any toyota. Toyotas are more about reliability but not much cutting edge technology( though the current ceo has been making strides at making more interesting bread and butter models.

Toyota and Honda merging? LOL Can you imagine Toyondas and Hondotas with interference motors? A good car for a first driver is a Corolla, Civic, or (if you can find one in good shape) a Cavalier with the 2. 2L engine (NOT the 2200 Ecotec. Parts are cheap and they are easy to maintain. If you car stumbles/shuts off when the engine gets hot, keep in mind Crankshaft and Camshaft sensors tend to become sensitive to heat before they fail completely.

I knew my daughter was going to wreck her first car so I bought her a clean low mileage Volvo for 13K. Like clockwork a year later she rear-ended a pickup truck. She did 12K in damage and the insurance company decided to fix it, why I'll never know. In the Volvo she didn't get a scratch, but it scared her so bad she's the world safest driver now. ALWAYS get your child a big safe beast as their first car no matter what they want.

I'm not sure how you came up with the Ford 10 speed transmission turning out OK. These things are a nightmare. They have a major recall, and we have at least one class action law suit that I'm aware of. Not only that, Ford has been putting out some terrible designs on all their vehicles lately. Its starting to catch up with them. You wouldn't believe some of the issues we have to deal with.
