A story about my familys murano that you may or may not care about or find amusing: Back in the day from when I lived in Evanston, Illinois, my family had a 2005 Murano. Sometime after wed moved from Evanston to Westerville, Ohio, my grandparents came by and of course my grandpa had a mechanical project he was working on. His F250 (Dead now because of Battery problems) was being used by my grandma and the Murano was the only car available. Now he has a habit for stress testing things, and this was no exception. The car had a CVT (here we go) and he felt a weak spot in second gear. So he drove the car to and from Home Depot to pick up supplies in second gear. When he got back, he told my dad that it broke. Shortly after, the transmission went out and we ended up donating the car to a charity, so it could be a pile of parts by now. It was a decent car except for the tranny. RIP Nissan. Your innovation did not excite me.

After 115k miles my 2007 350z it's going electronically haywire. Airbag light flashing, outside door handle unclipped. AC doesn't blow, parking lights both went out. No power on any buttons on my steering wheel work anymore including the horn. To top it off the horn does work but when I turn the wheel the horn will automatically and spontaneously beep and lay down on its own. I had to disconnect the 2 horns because you cant remove the fuse relay. Engine is perfectly fine but this thing is dying day by day. Used to think highly of Nissan but they prove to be electonic nightmares. Cant wait to get into a brand new lease soon. Im thinking Honda for my style.

I get that apparently current production of Nissan CVTs are unreliable, and that people have a strange nostalgia for gear shifting transmissions over constant power, AND that apparently there are many Nissan owners with issues. But, theyre everywhere, I own an Altima 17 and its great (Tho Im coming from a 07 Taurus) and they look good drive good. are they really as bad as people like to think they are? Theres no way you have the fifth most popular sedan on the market and its somehow a lemon.

The Toyota Corolla of motorcycles is, and always will be, the 1991-1997 Yamaha FZR. The best, and most reliable carburated 600cc sport bike ever produced. The gear box sounded like it had rocks in it, yet NEVER failed with stock gearing. You can red line that engine until the cows come home, and even miss shifts, and still not grenade it. Some would say the CBR is better. but they were notorious for bent clutch baskets (which the FZR never suffered from. If you can find an old FZR in decent shape, buy it.

Teslas only sell for two reasons: One, cars are status symbols. Two, people love the newest electronics like iPhones and iPads are often seen as status symbols as well. Teslas are just the absolute beneficiaries of blind consumerism because they're basically a computer/an electronic on wheels. That's it. They're not bad cars, they're just absurdly overrated because they serve both masters. I'd never buy one, I don't exactly like them anyway aside that.

I don't need a Carbon monoxide test kit. I use my CO tester. I am an HV AC contactor and all the technicians carry a carbon monoxide sniffer. all you have to do is run the car and remove the radiator cap and test the vapors coming out of the radiator. Mechanics always give u the run around for increased profits. Scotty is not aware of a CO tester. Test the car in the open. The numbers will move off the chart if ur gasket is leaking.

We have a 2013 Maxima and absolutely love it. It has 120k miles and have never had trouble with it. Dont believe the hype that all cvts are bad, none will make it past 70k miles, etc. some of it is true, but mostly its just hatred for the newer technology and car brands. Cvts arent going anyway, but will keep getting better and better. You haters better get used to them. There may be one in your sports car one day.

In Ghana, i hardly come across old Land Cruiser on the streets but old Nissan Patrols are many and still running great. I drive Nissan Navara truck 2008 and still running great. Trust me, Nissan is innovative than Toyota. They rush to innovate and Toyota takes time to emulate. Very soon, all other cars would have CVT. I think they the first to introduce 6 speed diesel mini truck, Navara and now 7 speed.
