Teslas are expensive yeah so are Ferarris. I mean u want when a car goes 0-100 in 2. 5s? u think its worth 40k? Second of all Teslas are big. Yeah thats their business plan: first bring out an ultra fast sport sedan (that has no competition, then bring out an ultra fast SUV (that has no competition (when the X came out, barely anyone was making competitors for the X) then bring out affordable cars: 3 and Y. Also also, the fact that only 2 people will drive it is no argument. Ever heard of big families? who like. need an SUV? Third of all: its a new car company, u blame them for their build quality? Lastly: Teslas lose battery life it its cold outside. Thats kinda weak to say Tesla specific. ALL electric cars lose battery life when its cold. U should have named this entire video why not to buy an electric car instead of why you shouldnt buy a Tesla loland: Teslas quickly run out of power because they are so large, and when you install a bigger battery the car gets more weight so it doesnt helpever heard of. like. improvement?

Sorry Scotty, Your old school wisdom and mechanical experience are wonderful, but you are dead wrong on electric cars. Move over old friend, electric cars are the future regardless of past preferences and those stubborn to change. .Simple a more efficient machine for turning a wheel, and with many less moving parts, more reliable and less trips to the repair shop. They are hardly new; Even Henry Fords wife drove a Detroit Electric make of car way before big oil took over. The nasty oil cartels will never give up their huge profits easily, but more silent, less polluting, more dependable, more quiet, more economical to run electric cars are the future. Love your videos Scotty & thanks for all the great information, from another friend here in Houston.

Back in 1978 we bought a Datsun B210 5-speed and drove from Indy to Orlando and only stopped for gas one time. Now fast forward to 2019, we now have a Toyota RAVE4 and we needed to stop twice. I think as the gas millage on cars go up, theydeliberately reduce the gas tank size and cruising ranges so EVs will have a much easier time competing. Whats the maximum range for your newer gas powered car, I bet itsless than theoldercar you replaced? If theywere forced too go head to head with cars and SUVs that have 500 & 600+ mile cruising ranges everyone would just pass them up. So they reduce the range of all the new cars in an effort to help EV sales.

The new model is 35. 000. The others are 150k the new one is amazing quality. They have 200 to 320 mile range and free charging stations all over America. You got a screen that tells you where to go. We need to make this transition. My canary alarm goes off with air smog quality warning at 8 am noon and 5 pm and 1: 30 am Tesla is really a good car now and its affordable Its the old ones that are not so good. The new Atlas E truck is 45 k 500 mile range and 800 HP. they are coming out next year and say they have a 15 min full charge time. Up in snow you need a ekectric warmer at night. Still worth it getting rid of smog.

Scotty thinks he knows more than engineers designing cars in billion dollar companies. Unless its a 4 cylinder toyota car from the 90s its junk We should never advance technology, we should stick with old boring tech that never advances the human race. If we followed his theory from the beginning of time wed be stuck with 1 cylinder model Ts with a crank start on the grill. Let the engineers design cars Scotty, you keep being a grease monkey. Tesla is a booming company with a great future and crazy amounts of sales, that ship is not sinking bubba.

I dont always agree with Scotty on all things but as far as EVs are concerned Im in complete agreement. Another thing he didnt cover is you never really own a Tesla. You are bound to them for updates, superchargers and repairs. You cannot go outside of their system since they will not sell parts to unapproved repair shops or body shops. When a Tesla car is sold or rebuilt outside of the Tesla system it is dropped from the rolls and is no longer acceptable for anything from Tesla and it includes safety recalls. CAVEAT EMPTOR. (buyer beware)

I wish somebody would talk about the danger of getting into an accident with an electric car, upon impact will the batteries absorb the energy or break and come up through the floor and contaminate the inside of the car with graphite and lithium particles. Will responders think twice before approaching a damaged vehicle in a hazmat situation, are there safety features to prevent a live wire situation where the occupants could be injured due to damaged high output voltage batteries? So far not many answers to those safety questions.

News that matter
Its volite to say the least. If Toyota released cars that had 1/10 the realibility issues as Tesla, people would have outraged. Toyotas cheapest north American model has a much better track record of realibility and customer support. Cars comming out uneven body panels, cheap paint globs, running paint, rattling parts that give out. And really, their cars are meant to be driven new, after that TESLA WILL NOT SUPPRT THEIR OWN VEHICLES. SO when the warrenty runs out, so does support. They cant afford support.

Wow get your facts straight, I know there are a lot of people who are against change but give it a rest. You might be a good mechanic all due respect but you should stick to what you knowJust to let you know the model 3 safest car ever made, over the air updates, ability to drive for over a million miles. Dont get me wrong they have their problems but they have only been a company for around 12 years Ford and others over 100 years and look how far along they have come. The proof is out there.
