Bognor Regis is located on England-s South Coast between Brighton and Portsmouth, it-s home to a Bultins holiday camp and one time Fridge Manufacturer LEC. Whilst Bultins goes from strength to strength, LEC is little more than a memory, the one-time entrance gates now form part of a supermarket perimeter fence and the local pub is named after one of the company-s founders. The most prominent remnant of the factory is its airfield. It was taken over by its present owner, a keen glider pilot with the aim of returning it to its former glory for use as a gliding club and school. Today the airfield has been restored with the creation of large flat grass areas ideal for gliders to take off and land, along with a tarmac runway for tug planes and other small aircraft to use. Winch launching is also available. I noticed a glider fitted with GoPro camera fixing points so I arranged for a flight using three mounts to shoot this video. For those interested in GoPro cameras who might want to compare their performance, a GoPro 6 Black edition was fitted to the wing, a 7 to the canopy and an 8 to the tale, the 6 and 7 were set to 2. 7K narrow vision whilst the 8 was set to 4K narrow vision. This flight takes place in the evening as the sun is setting, on an autumn day. If you-d like to find out about the club or maybe book a flight or trial lesson, please contact the club via their website at

As part of a program that takes Disabled American Veterans on day trips, I got to go on a trip to Edwards Air Force Base and was waiting with other anxious and nervous Veterans on the ground, watching others go up in these really cool Gliders that they had for us. Well, unfortunately they ran out of time and I never got to go up myself. Oh well, it was still a fun day. And it worked out well for me. The people felt bad because I and another Veteran didn't get our chance in the Gliders, and they brought us back out there the next week and took us up in a Cessna training plane. Once in the air, the pilot even let me have the wheel for a little while, and do some flying. It was awesome. - Too bad the world isn't as peaceful on the ground as it is from the air

Tim, a stunning -film-.
Gently rising & falling with the accompaniment: a great choice of restful music.
I-ve already moved it from a tablet to the widescreen high definition TV.
It is great background, contemplation almost mystical. Thanks for sharing.

Phew! Well done Tim. A number of cameras firing away! Beautiful footage. I don't know how I would have felt at the tether release moment. Possibly looking frantically for somewhere to land! Great stuff and thanks for sharing it. Atb, Terry
