THE SUNDANCE CENTRAL RAILROAD - The Sundance was formed in January 2004 with the goal to create a more detailed and uniformly scened, large-scale traveling layout. This 1: 20. 3 scale modular model railroad consisting of forty modules for a layout size of 45 feet by 45 feet. The railroad consists of 400 feet of hand laid code 250 aluminum rails that are hand spiked with individual tie plates onto wood ties with a total of 16 turn-outs. The modular was built by a group of seven model train enthusiasts. This diverse group is made up of people who have a passion of early narrow gauge steam locomotives to modern day standard gauge diesels. The purpose for forming this modular group was to provide the public a realistic look at model railroading in a large-scale format. The modules are highly detailed from the scratch built supporting structures and buildings down to the surrounding scenery. The trains and rolling stock that will be running on these modules will also be highly detailed and weathered. Address: 2645 Success Dr, Odessa, FL 33556 Web: www.finescalemodeling.org

Fantastic I love all the tiny bits of detail. Its a real art form to weather plastics to look like rusting steel, rusty corrosion, soot caked, everything has to look just right. If it were possible adding the smells of burning wood, and coal. smells of the pines and other natural living things would be ideal. The music is great for the video, too. Adding sounds coming from each little part of it would be even better. Hammering, steam jetting, growls, foundry sounds, muffled voices and dogs barking. to flesh out the realism.

Do you think these people play games like OpenTTD or Transport Fever? Or do they feel that real model railroads are the ONLY way to satisfy their hobby? :DI'm just wondering. Because, personally i definetly appreciate the tactile feel of a real train set someone spent hours on, but then i just feel like i'd rather play a game about trains, because then you can at least see them in motion and, you know, plan routes and see stuff getting transported around, hear the sounds etc.

I like it, but the layout is all wrong, you have a Texaco Gas Station and NO ROAD to station, how do they stay in business? If your going to set up a layout at least make roads with cars/trucks that can get through. Check out the videos on the BIGGEST/MINI AIRPORT in the world in Germany, now that is an AWESOME layout, you have moving planes, fire trucks, cars, trucks and trains.

That's some high quality diorama-porn And brilliantly filmed as well. Thanks for sharing with us. I'm a small scale tank modeller and wargamer and this video is both: Relaxing and inspiring at the same time. It's really impressive that (imho) there are no visible seams or differences in style or quality throughout the whole layout.

. and the town drunk leans over to slur a whisper in your ear. You wanna know what makes me drink so much. What, you say. You know why the train is number 102? Cause it goes thru town 102 times a day hick. .and there's. and there's. hockey players filling the coal car, and they call me an idiot. Idiots. .lol Nice work peoples.

When I see something like this, I get what the ancient Greeks meant in their credo regarding humanism. How both the appreciation and creation of beauty bring one closer to the divine. I see something like this, and I see the potential that we all have as humans. What we can really do, and the joy that we can really bring.

Visited this place recently, for the first time. Couldn't get enough of it Unbelievable detail and craftsmanship. Not only the main model you see here, but there are also smaller scale dioramas and military displays. Everything is beautifully done. Could have spent all day there. Never seen anything like this

Fantastic model-building for sure - if only the photography would do it justiceShaky pans everywhere, DOF was poor in places and sharpness could also be better (good steady FHD would be better than this 4K. Your recent videos aren't much better. How about putting the camera on a tripod and drive the trains by?

Overall everything shows a lot of time and effort. My only beef is that it portrays that everything associated with the railroad back then was all run down and shabby. It makes it look like no one did maintenance on anything. Sure, rust and rot happens, but people didn't just sit back and do nothing.
