I think gelatin is a way to not waste anything of the animals. Over consumption is the real problem, I think. But using bones and remains to make an other product is a good thing to avoid wasting. Even though by simply not killing an animal you don't have anything to waste (until they die from old age I guess). Not all farms are abusive.

I hope you take no offence to this, but there is no way I could ever go vegan or vegetarian I need meat vitally for my diet I've had diet problems in the past and it's really important for me to have meat as a part of my diet, but if I could become vegan I would and it would be because of you thank you for inspiring so many people

I think it is good that they are using skins and bones for another purpose instead of just burning them. And humans were MADE to eat other animals, just like how Cats eat Fish, Sharks eat Seals, And how some animals eat humans. So if you're going to kill the animal why not use all of it?

Would the current level of gelatin consumption actually be contributing to the further slaughter of animals? Or would much of the stuff used to make it just be going to waste due to the meat industry?

Ok, I get it. You shouldn't eat animals. They're alive. I know. But I always get meat that hasn't been tortured or treated cruely. And plants are living things too.
