Good to hear from you both again. Hope that you both enjoy living in your yurt. Do you have to get consent from the authorities before you build your new home? Also how do you add on bathroom facilities? You are very brave living in 30', it will really make you think about those things that you really need versus 'stuff', which most of us collect. Will you need a refrigeration facility or can you do without? True off grid living, hope you enjoy it and it works for you both. Enjoy the build.

I wish I had the money to buy a piece of property just so I could build a yurt & thrive in it.
Have my own garden & do my own thing.
You kids are so lucky.
Enjoying the adventure with you.
Learning a lot & enjoying it.
Thanks for putting yourselves out there & showing the world that you can do whatever you want as long as you understand that it takes hard work & dedication, but it's worth it.
I admire your drive & enthusiasm.
It is to be commended. -

where are you going to put your YURT? You have to have land before hand. You probably have it already planned out. Hope it has all the things you need. Water, trees, lake, critters, and more. Oh, and of course a beautiful view out the kitchen window. That is what I would want. Do they come with bathroom/shower/hot water or is an outhouse an extra added necessity?

So awesome I have 5 acres in kentucky, always dreamed of living in a yurt but for now its a trailer lol. You should get walkie talkies we use them on trips just like this (we have moved 19 times in 12 years of marriage) it makes the lonley drives alot more fun lol, plus you can use them on your property to communicate, just get long range ones

Very cool (well, cold! Did you ever see Peter Bigfoot's yurpees at Reevis? The extra air circulation was great for summer, but they could be sealed up tight for winter, too. Patricia built one at her Somewhere property in northern Arizona, so I'm sure you can get this one up, too. Congratulations!

Jake & Nicole so excited for your new journey. My husband and I have been living in a 30 foot Pacific Yurt for 2 1/2 years in Eastern WA. We love it, but wish we were able to find more info about actually living in them. Would love to share what we've learned along the way with you guys.

Nicole you keep saying that you-re freezing-I-m in Nor Cal. We wear warm socks and cover our ankles, leggings under thin pants like jeans, and many top layers. You are underdressed and need to take better care of your warmth to keep your immunity strong! Cover your head!

Please you two, put a video up with how you put it together and all. That would be great to see! I would love to live in one of these in the future. Where are you planning to put your house, which area? I would love it somewhere by a lake in the mountains. :)

I have 2 friends who live in these full time and love it. Only advice make sure no tree limbs can fall from above they will come inside. Remove all dead trees yurts can not hold up a falling tree like a stick frame can. Looks like fun have a blast.
