The James Charles Privacy Problem Is Actually Much Bigger, Kanye West, Pete Davidson, & The UN M. Nicole Mortimer: My comment is two weeks late, (and super long) but i agree with u on the kanye x ariana x pete. imo ari was highlighting kanyes tendency to make a fuss and create drama (the drake issue) she didnt even comment on his mental health until he mentioned it in his reply. of course ari being an advocate for mental health had to be the bigger person when it was just kanye throwing a tantrum basicallyI know so many people as well as myself that have mental illnesses and im not using this in any way to say im special but if i do have replies to this comment i fear people will think ive never been on the receiving end of mental health stigma. I am sensitive about this issue and learn something new with every conversation that include others perspectives. So if you reply please correct or criticise me respectfully i dont like kanye as a character and find his actions as a poor representation of the mental health community because i feel like rather than making it mainstream he is presenting it as self-righteousness. Which feeds into a toxic culture of people thinking having a mental issue is quirky or that they were chosenI feel petes comment was distasteful. Now granted he might have had a bad break up w ariana and took it out on her indirectly. Which was unfortunate because it just gave support to kanye instead of the mental health issue. Also petes personal health experiences are personal just like kanyes and aris. And while people have no right commenting on how they deal with it i do agree that kanye claiming he is a beacon of wisdom while making questionable decisions is ironic. Petes last post on insta is not a publicity stunt; its a cry for help and you can see that by the geniune words he uses, he doesnt try to market it (if that makes any sense. Im not trying to say kanye is marketing his mental health journey but while ari puts out an album about she deals with mental health (that has resonated with me and so many others) and tries to stay on neutral ground and doesnt glorify it (just gives herself credit for learning and growing which should be glorified) kanye is out there pointing fingers and using his mental issues to fuel his opinions. Thats like a disabled person who cant use their left foot saying they can getaway with hitting people with their hand. Kudos to ari for calling it as it is: weaponisation of mental health

Really cool you talk about world issues. As a polish Canadian. The reason poland has decided to close its borders is because of all the news of violence against European people since the migration. This isnt false. In Germany a little boy was raped by a refugee, and the courts let the guy was let go because of cultural differences thats one of the many reason why allot of European countries have said enough. Its not about racism, hate etc. Its about people being worried about their own safety, since allot of those countries the migrants are coming from, come from a culture that woman abuse is OK, rape is OK, child brides is OK, female genital mutilation is ok. So people are scared and with good reason, doesnt mean all migrants are bad or whatever, it just means people have a reason to be fearful. Allot of those beliefs are illegal in western and European countries. Just recently here in Canada our police were finally able to find who murdered and raped little 13 year old girl in Burnaby BC, and it was a refugee. And our prime, promised Canadian people he would take full responsibility if anything happened. And since finding the murderer hes stayed silent on the issue. How is that fair? That a child lost her life, parents have a hole in their heart all in the name of helping others. Makes people hateful. Governments should be giving support and teaching refugees about western way of life. Even here in Canada I feel so bad for the refugees because they come to a country they know nothing about, are given welfare, but zero support on integrating into our society, no educational programs for jobs, English etc. Its disgusting what the government has done. Its like that saying, give a man a fish he eats for a day, teach a man to fish he eats for life. And thats what governments should be doing. Rather than letting chaos and fear spread

I'm not a doctor, but I am a nursing student and I know that you cannot just abruptly stop taking most medications. They often need to be cycled down in order to ween you off of them because withdrawal symptoms can be deadly. This means pain medication, steroids, and most antidepressants. You need to talk to your doctor if you want to stop taking your medication, your doctor will never force you to take a medication. They may advise against it depending on what medication it is, but if you are persistent, they will work with you and help you get off of them safely. On another note, mental health is something I've dealt with for 10 years. I've had Dysthymia for 10 years, atypical anorexia for 8 years, and anxiety for about 2 years. It's not a joke, I have tried to commit suicide and luckily I was okay and only suffer mild effects from that. I also learned that I don't actually want to die. But not everyone is that lucky. Mental illness can be extremely isolating, especially when no one around you believes in what you're feeling. I was brave enough to ignore my mother's words and seek help on my own. However, that also means I can't talk to many people about it. However, I've learned that all my feelings are valid. So, that means yours are too. Whatever mental illness you may be suffering from, is real. Remember that you are never truly alone, and there are people out there who will help you if you just reach out.

so i have a history of suicidal tendencies so i think i can speak on this a little. it is extremely unfair for people with suicidal thoughts, tendencies, or other mental health issues to hold people hostage with them. for me when i have thoughts of suicide i make sure to go to some one i trust and talk it through with them and if i cant do that i either call the suicide hotline or my therapist. even at my lowest point which was just a few months ago i made every attempt to get help before i started telling people they will miss me when i am gone. and it only got to that point because i could not find my phone to call the suicide hotline and my usual go to person was having her own mental issues and could not deal with mine. pete and kanye are adults they should no better then to use their issues as a weapon. and if they are having such bad mental issues then they should leave the public spot light because they obviously cant handle it. being a celebrity is an extremely stressful job and it is not for people with mental health issues like that. i really do sympathize with pete and kanye and i honestly feel bad for them. but they need to leave the public spot light permanently. im sure even the heartless media would stop harassing them if they held a press conference and told them that they are quitting being a celebrity in order to survive and asking that the media let them go about their normal lives.

As someone with mental health problems, I really dont want Kayne to be a spokesperson especially considering he isnt taking medications. Something I have had to learn and others with mental health issues often learn or need to, just because your mental health is bad that doesnt excuse shitty behavior. Calling Kayne out on something or joining in the feud that he is participating in doesnt mean he gets to yell that he has mental health issues. That is only going to hurt others with similar issues. He needs to take responsibility. And yes people should be mindful of his health, but since he is clearly not trying to better himself then I think his actions can be seriously judged. if he was making an effort to be healthy then I would be more understanding. But clearly he is not and needs to stop using mental health as an excuse for things or hiding behind it considering he doesnt care enough to continue help. Also screw the concept that art is better when you are mentally ill or dependent on substances. Whenever my mental health becomes really bad, my art suffers because I cant get shit done. When I am healthier is when I thrive. Stop promoting dangerous ideals Kayne

If you want privacy takes the steps to insure your privacy. Ever since Barbara Streisand people should KNOW this is what is going to happen and take steps to protect themselves (They LITERALLY named the effect after her for Godsake. If I know 100% that driving down a road backwards while drunk is likely going to get me killed then maybe I shouldn't expect everyone else on the road to be kind and sane and get out of my way. I should maybe not drink, hide the car keys, don't put gas in the car, etc. Something proactive to protect myself. Same situation here. If you want privacy, don't become a celebrity, or take measures (like NOT give millions of people photos/videos of where you live) to protect that privacy. My god you sound like a special snowflake with this line of thinking. Is it right? Absolutely not. Is it okay? Nope. But, Is it commonplace in this sphere? Absolutely. Has it been an issue, regardless of what type of celebrity you are, for decades? HELL YES, so LEARN already. Don't become a Youtube celebrity and just assume this isn't going to happen to you, that just makes you look conceited. It has been this way for decades, time to grow the hell up people.

As a Belgian, I found the whole situation laughable. Making such a big hoopla about a non-binding document which the NVA was negotiating on as well for those 2 years, only to turn and decry it in the last few weeks. it's all a political stunt, especially with the upcomming national elections. and sadly, people are falling for the rethoric. Some people even claiming that they should've asked the people their opinion before signing this treaty. Which, no, we live in a government system where we give our political power as a nation's population to the people in the government. If we did have a system were the people had a say in every little thing the government wanted to do, we'd have multiple referendums each week to vote on every single little change. And I don't think that people realistically want a system like that. The majority at least. I just don't understand it anymore. and now our government is in shambles but hey, we've survived with no government for more than 2 years in the past so we'll last 6 months till the elections. It's gonna be interesting till then to say the least.

As a person with mental health issues it sickens me to see people weaponize mental health I am not an Ariana fangirl or hater, but the way she put it was perfect. Kanye really does nothing for people with mental health besides make us look bad because people will believe that al people with mental health act like Kanye. Every time he says something and someone fires back he cries mental health instead of taking accountability to arguing intelligently. Pete also deeply worries me, but he HAD to know exactly what would happen when he tweeted that. He would become the victim, people would think he committed suicide or was about and come save him and Ariana would get the backlash like she did when Mac Miller died. Anyone self aware about their mental illness knows that 9 times out of 10 no one is to blame for your mental state. Not even yourself. Kanye and Pete need to look at what their actions really do to the mentally ill communities. Lets be honest Pete is probably more self aware about this, and Kanye doesn't need a twitter.

Pete breaks my heart. Im glad to see so many people caring enough to reach out, his friend get on a plane to be there. Kanye, he cant speak out about mental health, but then not take his meds and brag about it. If I dont take my meds I eventually spiral and can no longer fight the suicidal ideation, I become angry often and hardly function like a normal human being Thats not ME, thats the sick part of my brain trying to ruin me. Because thats the goal for it. Its terminal it wants you dead and will do what it can to achieve that. (If you have suicidal ideation of course) Kanye is NOT an ambassador for mental health, he is a hindrance. full stop. Its cool he talked about it, but it was out of the side of his mouth. Going at Ariana, shows that hes unstable. I didnt read her tweet and see her attacking mental health, I saw her tell a grown man to grow up. But because he refuses self-care he has to go on the attack. As Pete has said to him in the past. take your meds.

There are a few situations here, first when people with mental illness use there illness as a shield to say something harmful to others that is not right and 2 usually you are to busy battling your own mindset to really care. I have spent 20 year battling depression and can tell you that most of us try calling out for help but tend to stay quiet otherwise because of lack of focus or energy. If you suspect that someone you know may be suffering from mental illness some signs may be that their house is not as clean as usual or their personal hygiene habits change, if they are someone who contacts you several times a week and then goes weeks without contacting you, or talk of suicide contact your local authorities to get them help. Most of us however do not have the mental energy to engage in a feud like described here because our attention is often times searching for what is making us feel the way we do.
