This is why entertainment is a thing. It's there to escape all of that All the politics, all the laws, all the breaking news; entertainment is there to forget about all of that. Just look at sports for example. The main purpose of professional sports is to sit down, watch, and enjoy yourselves. After 9/11, the president was going to a professional baseball game and stand in the middle of the field for everyone to see him. Everyone was so scared that he was going to get shot or the stadium was going to blow up. But after a few moments, they forgot about all of that and enjoyed a ball game. This is why TV and movies exist. Most importantly, this is why the internet exist. If new laws or politics stress you out over Twitter, then watch some entertaining videos on YouTube. If you're concerned with how your friends or family is doing, then go onto Instagram, Facebook, or Snapchat and see how they're doing. Or better yet, message them because watching professional sports, TV, or movies can't do that. It is important for you (especially children) to understand the real world we are living in. But if all of this is not making you feel like a kid anymore, then explore the parts of the internet that make you laugh and make you feel like a kid. Look at memes, watch good YouTubers, revisit your childhood TV shows/movies. Or go outside and just have fun in your own little world with or without others. This isn't the 19th century where everyone was stressed out about the future. This is a new experience and a new society, so make it last. It starts with you

I almost cried when you read that statistic. My depression started when I was 6 years old and I also have BPD. My best friend also has BPD and we got the shit bullied out of us in middle school. We were diagnosed with 18. 18All this pain we and so many other teens have been through, could've been much less, if somebody listened to us. To teachers: I still had really bad anger issues in 10th grade. Which is not normal. In primary school they overlooked me beating my teachers and I kind of understand that. But me cutting myself? Screaming at teachers? Bursting into tears all the time? Are you serious? You did nothing. Absolutely nothing. And to parents: I know Its not just a phase, mum is a meme, but sometimes it really isn't. My mum waited to get me to a doctor, because she thought it was. Until I tried to commit suicide at the age of 18. And even if it was a phase, does it matter? Your kid still suffers. I hope we can do better, when we grow old. Because we will understand what they are going through.

Being in Gen Z it feels like there are paths and steps to those paths, and trying to follow it we feel pressured and question am i doing this right, we dont have definitive answer for things, we get a lot much anxiety and depression from daily task, personally, i dont think the school system gives much effort for our mental health, we dont get that hey how are you guys feeling and when we do we say good with a unhappy expression, and the person who asked isn't gonna follow up with a are you sure, because it would take too much time and cant be bothered. We are locked up in a school sitting in a chair for hours, and some rooms without even windows, a feeling anxiety claws at our brains, we desire the relief from that bell to ring us too freedom from our asylum. There is no flavor in this drink of life. sorry for getting poetic at the end, this is just something i feel needs effort for once.

I get the criticism on LGBT issue - looks very much like a human rights campaign with neo-colonialist seasoning. Not that I argue against decriminalization of course. The issue is that if you come with good intentions but from the wrong angle it can backfire or just be useless - and in this case it looks like US might be in this exact position. Even just lack of local knowledge can lead to horrible consequences like in Chechnya. An ethnically Russian and living among Russian majority activist trying to gain some ground dor a complaint to ECHR and in the end inadvertently putting in tremendous danger Chechens who happen to be gay or know gay people. So no Phil. Not ANY move helps equality. A lot of moves push it further away and even possibly lead to misuse of human rights ideas.

None of this is surprising. Its actually expected. Its part of the culture. As entertainment and media shows that having money and influence is more important then having and refining decency and common sense, people will suffer and do whatever it takes to pursue riches and glory because they arent content with their current or simple lives. Nothing in this country (US) represents a simple life anymore. Its sad and pathetic. Thats why suicide rate climbs, thats why erratic behaviors emerge, thats why so many bad habits and tragedies occur. Because its promoting a sore amongst the stars at whatever stake philosophy instead of asking why do I wanna soar that high when Im fine being here on the ground?

Im 25 living in Illinois and struggling to find a job that pays enough to live on my own as I attempt to complete my major. Im lucky to be paid 12. 5/hour but I lose 26% of each check due to taxes in my area. Im leasing a car that costs me 200/m (which was a mistake) Ive been searching for 2 years for a studio under 700/month because I dont need much space however Ive yet to find a single one in range of my community college and job. I work 35 hours a week (and take 12credit hours) Im burnt out and Ive yet to see a check above 600. None of my friends live on their own nor are ready to move out, I would not feel comfortable with a stranger as a roommate

Im 18, in college, from a relatively high income household. Although I try to understand the lives of others and how it affects them, when I look at my friends and peers it seems that the majority of their stress and problems do not come from outside sources, but their own personal decisions. Such as going out to party and get drunk on Thursdays, and then skipping Friday classes. Or watching a movie instead of doing homework. They always talk about the amount of things they have to do but from the perspective of time it seems like they actually dont have that much to do they just waste their time and dont do anything effectively.

We should all be able to be who we are and do the things that we like to do without being forced or pressured to go beyond your limits just to please a certain crowd. I think we should enjoy everyones growth and gradually keep aiming for the best because we are ALL capable of going beyond what our mind can think, without being forced or pressured. Everything in a natural pace is more effective than something thats being forced. This will bring confidence to a lot of people because it will show them that it is okay to take your time in doing things and not rush it. Consistency and patience are the keys to Success.

RE: LGBT+ anti-criminalisation effort. I agree that any move that might actually make a difference should be welcomed, and I do believe that many of the people who will work on it are sincere in their efforts. But it does come across as a little hollow in the context of many anti-LGBT+ moves made by the GOP against their own people. I'm sure it must be frustrating to those on the inside who genuinely want to make a difference, to have their efforts undermined by others in their own party (and leadership) who believe that LGBT+ people are less deserving of rights and protections (or worse.
