A YOUNG girl is taking Los Angeles by storm in her wheelchair, proving that you don-t need the ability to walk to be a daredevil. Luzi Castillo, 12, is gaining a reputation for her daring spirit and appetite for adventure. Born with Myelomeningocele - a form of Spina Bifida - the bones of Luzi-s spine didn-t form completely, resulting in an incomplete spinal canal. Luzi, who has had a total of 8 surgeries, is affected from the waist down, meaning she has use of her arms but has to use a wheelchair. Despite this, you will often find Luzi on the basketball court, at the skate park or on top of a surfboard. Video Credits: Videographer / director: Colin Weatherby Producer: Martha Hewett, Ruby Coote

I love this video of this young lady with Spina Bifida. What get out of this video / the message is that, having Spina Bifida does not stp her and that's wonderful. I aspecially like the part in the video where she get out of her wheechair and is climbing the steps. To the parents of this young lady, you are raising is up right. I have a Spina Bifida FB Page (group) called: Everyone Being Aware of Spina Bifida. I welcome one seeing this to message me / look up the FB page / group. I page does have thigs other SB pages / groups do not have. Ryan Krygier

Sweetheart. You are so Gorgeous. Such an inspiration. Breath of fresh air. You just showed alot of people that you can do what ever your mind heart and soul is. Your disability never holds you down. You go out with pride and show the world what you can do. So can they. They need to stop feeling sorry for themselves And get off their butts and do something. Disability is nothing to be ashamed of. They are as beautiful as the day they were born. Same goes for the people without a disability. Lifes to short. Get out there and enjoy it.

My little cousin has Spina Bifida. She's currently 5 and she's very brave and doesn't let anything stop her. She's also extremely intelligent. Her older brother has ADHD and her little brother is 1, so it's quite chaotic over there hehe

She looks really toned and has a healthy glow. What I fin the most inspiring is how she climbs up the stairs and into her wheelchair. Not all paraplegics can be daredevils but they should all strive for that level of independence!

Luzi, I love your strength as a person and the outright gutsiness you have to do the stuff you are doing here. I also LOVE the fact that you are wearing full protective gear, knee and elbow pads as well as a helmet. Way to go!

This girl is BRAVE and I love it! She must've gave her mom a heart attack when she starting skating and doing those ramps.
