CRUSHING stereotypes and challenging norms has become the mission of a fearless -plus-size- male model and stylist. Tevin Evans, aka -Fat Chuck Bass-, has taken it on himself to help change the landscape of male fashion and modelling by promoting a message of inclusivity. The 27-year-old, who lives in Brooklyn, says he wants to make diversity the norm within the industries he loves, and that plus-size men are more than -sweatpants and sneakers-. He told Barcroft TV: -Why is it that as a plus size guy, you guys feel like I just want to wear sweatpants and a pair of sneakers and a hoodie?

I'm honestly taken aback by all the negative and naive and just plain rude comments on here. Guys and girls, seriously, why can't we just be happy for people who are trying to make a change in this world, whether they are a doctor, a firefighter, a plus sized female or male model. I understand that you feel that you need to tell everyone who is obese that they need to take care of themselves, but do you expect them to hide in their basements until they reach that -socially acceptable weight? - Do you expect them not to live or work for something they love while they exercise and work on becoming healthier. We don't know each others stories, or what we are all insecure and _working on_, but respect one another, respect that he's out there trying to better the world. Take a breath and just appreciate individual people trying to make a positive change in the world. Just breathe---it's okay to not judge.

seems as though you are 'totally focused' on the 'OUT-SIDE- of yourself, and yes, this is now, more than ever what the 'world' desires, 'LOOKS-- visiual-connection=loss of 'self-love', focus on 'worldly critic and fake magic'. don't be a victim precious ones!
may we take a moment and ask/wonder when/how/where, you decided to forget about your 'pretty-hearts' and the inside of your God-given Temples?
yes, this would surely be perhaps the biggest 'struggle' of our entire lives, if we are able to care' about 'just who we really are, instead of who we 'think' the 'world 'thinks' who we 'should be according to their standards, which are of course, very questionable to nature and the natural pleasure and the joys that it can bring to those who are able to embrace it.

It-s like these people in the comments don-t believe in living and enjoying your life no matter the state of your body.
So you want people who are overweight to wait to dress nice and feel their best till they-ve lost the ideal amount of weight?
I-ve gained weight a year ago and I came to a point where I could either beat myself up about it and ignore my interest fashion and wearing boring baggy clothes or dress cute and not give a damn about looking ideal.
I chose the ladder and I feel great. I still have a little belly fat now but it shouldn-t stop me from wearing what I want to wear.

Awesome. It really is time we had more plus sized male models. Everyone deserves to wear clothes they feel good in; regardless of their age, shape, or size. Unlike some of the haters, I don't believe having plus sized models promotes obesity. What would you have them wear instead? Potato sacks? I would say that the majority of overweight people are aware that they are an unhealthy weight. Some of the plus sized models may even be part way on their weight loss journey. They need encouragement, not judgment.

What about me? The Petite male model fighting an industry standard. I have done much research and it appears that I am the 1st shortest male model to ever walk the runway in multiple fashion shows including LA fashion week & Style fashion week at only 5ft7. I have also been published as the shortest male runway model and fashion model in the United States. I am just realizing I have made history but it is so hard to fight this alone.

When I look at a MODEL I want the image of a healthy man. This is not healthy. Regardless of how you want to dress it up. A plus-size model should not be on the front page. I get it you want to look good and so you should, and good on you for making an effort, and there should be nice clothes out there for the bigger ladies / gents. Just, be realistic and fair. The ideal of a man is exactly what it should be, healthy.
reply

these are not bigger men. They are in fact much smaller than the average men: smaller life expectancy, smaller willpower, smaller capacity to control themselves, smaller care for what society expects from them, smaller penises, smaller quality of life, smaller income, and the list goes on and on.
funny how the media and authors of the video pretend to celebrate these smaller men, but would never consider joining them.

Glad to see someone addressing big men's fashion in a realistic way. I'm so tired of the catalogs from which I buy my husband's clothing. All the models look like NFL linebackers. They're big alright, but not in a way the average big man on the street is. My husband loves nice clothes, & wouldn't be caught dead wearing sweat pants in public. If there's more available for plus size women, it should be the same for men.
reply

I always wondered why nobody was talking about men in the whole plus size conversation.
As someone who is currently obese, I don't support the narrative that it's something that should be celebrated, but I suspect that there's a HUGE potential market for plus size mens fashion. I'm already wondering how I can get a piece of the action before it becomes a big deal.

Regardless of size or color or anything else, the foundation of modeling is having a stunning face. Whether It's conventionally gorgeous or uniquely/strangely beautiful (although everyone will never agree completely, there is a general consensus. People don't just become models because they're marginalized and want to wear -designer duds-.
reply

you can say whatever you like but he is right about everything.
what I want to add is that plus size women are NEVER NEVER taking pictures, dating plus size men, they always go for very fit men wich is the definition of hypocrisy!

reply

STOP promoting obesity! I'm sorry, but if there's two magazines to choose from, one with a fat model and the other one with a hot muscle guy. People including myself would go for the hot muscle guy cover.
reply

I like a stocky guy. Solid. Football player build.
But theres no muscle. It's not proportionate
Bbws like toccara in past. Were always proportionate.
Everybody wanna be a model now

reply

hey man I like your outlook on life and yourself I think you're beautiful you're big and you're beautiful but first of all beautiful and you know how to wear it well keep up the good work.
reply

Honestly, speaking as a woman, we have sooo many privileges compared to men. I feel like women can get away with so many things while men cant. (At least in the modern western society)
reply

This is so dumb plus size models are just fat people who are trying to trick people into thinking that being fat is healthy there isnt a health at every size lose the weight
reply

0: 03 grosses me out but i gotta respect his courage. takes a lot of guts /self-confidence to hear a leather jacket like that and showin ur man-boobs lol
reply

I know you speak out about plus models but I've seen this before it's just going to be more underground, forgotten and swept under the rug.
reply

Good for him because there is big people out so why not we are not all the same size and for a man to do that is not easy but good for him
reply

I'm not overweight in anyway, but honestly I find it soooo unfair that women can be plus sized, but men are considered over weight
reply

As soon as somebody says -plus size- everybody wanna turn into medical doctors talking about -health-. Y-all some funny people -
reply

Oh cheesus. slow-mo does not make you look good. Fat is not good and definitelly not beutyful, stop lying and start exercising.
reply
