The glow worm colonies of New Zealand's Waitomo Caves imitate stars to confuse flying insects, then trap them in sticky snares and eat them alive crow_: I went to see some glow worms when I was 10 at a school camp. They were gorgeous. I remember walking down a dark path one by one with all the other students with our torches. We were all giggling and chatting to the teachers a d parents annoyance but when we all saw what was inside the cave, we all kinda just. stopped talking. It was incredible. Half of us thought they were fake. We were making theories that they had just hung up a blanket and poked holes in it to let light through. I'll never forget that night

You have said it yourself in other videos just like the dragon fly haveing a 2 foot span many years before. Right? Well who's to say that these worms haven't been in the light before. Maybe once upon a time they were exposed to light and have just adapted from it over the years.

There is nothing strange about circadian rhythms in caves. Food is still provided by photosynthesis outside the cave and warms have metabolic and rest-activity cycles that need to be temporally segregated.

Maybe I missed something. If the moths navigate using stars/moon, what are they doing inside a 1/2 mile deep cave! Shouldn't they be outdoors, navigating?

The glow worms are actually maggots but since they want to market it. Glow worms was way more appealing.
