Reasonably, if the Illuminati did still exist, they would have realized that to achieve their ultimate goal, they whould have to contradict themselves by taking over the very organizations they oppose to overthrow them. A possible contradiction either freezing them in place, or their work us cleary underway behind the scenes.
On the othe side, they'd have to either provoke a revolution quite openly while keeping their identity under wraps, or recruit and convert followers to do the above over time.
