Well, if the new shipping route is 5. 000km shorter than the old one, how much oil would that be saved compared to the old route? And the reason for global warming is? Climate change is coming whether we like it or not. When it comes, what are we gonna do? The Earth will stop rotating the Sun and we're all gonna piss our pants from sadness? Or are we just gonna deal with it like any other global crisis? If this new trade route happens, Iceland wont be the only place that profits from it, everyone on Earth will.

sooo. she is an environmentalist, and she is taking advantage of climate change? so shes glad for climate change, brings her the opurtunity to build a new port in the far side of the capital, where she would need to built roads, water, sewage, electric. shoudnt we by now be thinking more about retreat to metropolis and big cities? are we going to continuing destroy earth and the landfills? just so we can get more gdp?

Cant see this working, may seem like a great idea till the next volcano goes of. I visited Iceland last year its an amazing country to visit but its very expensive and outside the capital the infrastructure is not great. With volcanos/substandard infrastructure and high cost I cant see Iceland becoming a cargo freight hub for Europe.

The only part i dont like about many of your videos is that you tease a topic at the beginning but the main content makes up only for 2 minutes of the whole video. like the information how many people live there or the main tourist route didnt matter for this topic in any way.

Summary: the ice in the Arctic is melting, which will lead to the northern sea routes to be operable throughout a bigger part of the year. Icelanders will build a port in the north of the Island to take advantage of it. So much bs in the video.

Great video, but think the distances comparison on sea routes from Asia are incorrect. The new Northern route is not 9000km shorter, surely? The distance saving from Shanghai to Northern Europe is something like 3000 nautical miles?
