Upgrading the cheapest street-legal E-Scooter I could find on the Internet! SysGhost: Modified my e-scooter (Ninebot ES1) with 4 times as many batteries to get a much longer range. Requires two chargers, which I plan to replace with one beefier charger. The steering pole looks like it's been eating steroids with all the extra batteries hanging around. (Made some neat holders with help of a 3D printer.
I've also increased the maximum allowed current to the motor in the controller settings. A bit above the recommended settings for the BLDC motor. That did shorten the range a bit, but in turn, it got a lot stronger and have a much easier time uphill. I can always lower the speed to increase the range if need be.
The scooter in question is made from scrap-parts and broken/run over scooters I've bought from various sources, which made it all quite cheap. except for the batteries. They're the most expensive parts in my case. I don't want to deal with batteries from questionable sources, or deal with used battery packs. One never know the state of those which can be dangerous.

Lack of speed mod is a bit disappointing, particularly when a single speed bike with a backpedal brake could go faster - let alone a proper 10-speed bike is about twice as fast with some pedaling effort. (Why are e-scooter regulation speeds so ridiculously low? And in the same country that has the Autobahn)

You could've added a photodiode for automatically turning the lights on and off whenever it's dark outside and an ESP for controlling certain features with your phone (power-saving mode, manually turning the lights on and off, etc)
Might be a interesting project for an upcoming video!

I've added a second battery in parralel on an m365, they have custom firrmware you can change the rpm limiter and current draw, got an extra 9mph becuase there is an extra bank of cells to draw curtrent from, little bit worried the mosfets will burn out though

In finland one can build anykind of electric vehicle that goes 25km/h. No matter if it was moving bathtub, as long as its top speed is 25km/h. It is easy to limit whit potentiometer in throtle wire.

Oh wait so you do need an insurance sticker for it to be legal that's great then I can buy one and insure it as a mobility scooter since those only need a insurance sticker and no license hehe

So you are telling to me that you can just give a higher voltage to the charge port and it will charge the battery faster? or did you mean charging it straight from the lab power supply?

Please can you do a all in one e bike arduino display/controller. maybe something like bms + speed + power meter + trip calculation etc. i am sure it will make happy more than one.
