Mini Wind Turbine DIY or Buy

Mini Wind Turbine DIY or Buy Steve: I realize people have already mentioned it, but stepper motors make very poor generators. I forget the model name now, but a few years back I was researching DIY wind turbines and there is a (now hard to find) old IBM disk drive motor with very good properties when used as a wind generator. In fact a lot of the drive motors from back in the 80's tend to be very good.
Another learning experience may be wiring your own generator. I saw a lot of articles and videos of people using hard drive rare earth magnets and wiring their own generators with varying degrees of success.

these free energy solutions are in their youth and needs to be get better, I bought solar 24w charger from ANKER and it amazingly good but just for charging your phone 0-90% if you dont Use it during charging process and tooks so much time which i think is a life saver when you are in desert with no power resource around!

A bit late to the party, but for a wind turbine that small, a V. A. W. T. would likely be better. They handle turbulent conditions, like on top of a structure, much better. At the very least, it would be interesting to see a comparison follow up.
Cheers!

So i dont understand why to use small motor in diy version? Just connect bigger one if that is the case. Beside i think you still have issue in blade installation which not rectify full wind power. However, u suggest to have ready made turbine blades

Thank you for the exhibition. I believe with proper ingenuity one could surpass the efficiency of what is commercially available (but not as easily as I previously thought. Your honesty and sincerity are appreciated!

I think the smallest wind-turbines are impractical. I bought a 400W chineese one, I dont expect to get 400W from it, but I do expect it to provide 100W and fit in a box to bring with me when camping.

I want to build a fan powered by a windmill its moving. I would lose some energy to friction so it would be is a vacuum and I would have a solar panel and battery to supplement the power used

Honestly, the number of times I would ever need a wind turbine to power any of my electrical stuff is very, very low. At least with the DiY you walk away knowing how it worked.

Hi, just a request to put some ads on your video, so that you can earn some money which i want you to do so, because you make suck a great project and videos Thank you so much

You need to balance those turbine blades in order to eliminate the rotational vibration. I suggest using a high sensitivity scale to make the blades all the same weight.
