Commercial Smartwatch VS DIY Heart Rate Monitor John: Hi Great Scott, please make a video of necessary electric work safety equipment and practices which includes the gloves you used during your spot welder videos and the ones used while working on home live line equipments, safety glasses, footwear, ear plugs, face masks to protect from glass dust, spray and abrasive powders etc with safety practices such as stripping high amperage cables without loosing strands, fire safety, explosion safety, power line safety etc. Also provide shopping links so you get some commission. This would be one of the best series of your videos as its absolutely essential to practice safe engineering. Thank you JP.

But u skipped the max30100 part.
Is the library of the max30100 lacking something. I mean whether it needs an algorithm change.
Actually i m working on making a pulse oximeter during this covid time. And that too using an arduino.
But every where the video lacks description or proper explaining.
I thought i might get some imfo here. but you too didnot used that sensor.
I tried to make one using red led photo diode and an ir sensor. but it didnot work. so if u could give me any suggestions.

Wow what great intro project!
I was wondering what you think about making a compact smartwatch design using an esp32, heart rate monitor, squarish oled display, tactile buttons, small lipo battery and 3d printed enclosure?
The esp32 is used to connect either a website/app through either bluetooth or wifi.
Thats the kind of project id like to make once i have some free time. Though i still need to buy a 3d printer and practice some designs.

There's a logic error in your assumptions though. Both devices use the same kind of technology to measure your heart rate and because both give similar results you assert that they both must be correct. To be much more certain, you'd need to compare the results with data obtained by a different method. For instance, stopping at intervals and measuring your heart rate by counting the number of beats in 10 seconds

Hello there.
I've this question in my head that sometimes makes me a bit confused and just stops me. which is: according to the nowadays technologies and those ready to use boards like Arduino or Raspberry pi, do you suggest starting programming AVR or ARM?
I'm interested in making smart things based on AI. am I going to need AVR or ARM? or what should I focus on more?

Hi everyone! I'm working on a cheap and accurate smartwatch project. Unfortunately I couldn't find a Heart rate sensor which can read data like smartwatches from the wrist. The last sensor I tested was max30102 but it didn't work properly when I used it on wrist. Please help me if you can. Thanks a lot.

Hi Scott. I wanted to make a powerfull sound amplifier, but i couldn't find any good tutorial. Would you please make one? If you do this before, please give me link to your video about sound amplifier.

Hi scott, is there any replacement for grove heart rate sensor, applicable for measurement from wrist? The max30102 gets way hotter over time and the readings are less reliable. Thanks in advance

Optical heart rate is almost always trash. My fenix 5 plus (a 850 euro watch, top of the line) has struggles with high heartrate when sporting. My heart rate can be 190, and my watch showing 140.

Thanks for your videos those are inspiring indeed
Could you please make a project on making an anemometer be it a diy or buy
Would love to see that, there are not good videos to help.
