Entire History of the Neo-Assyrian Empire (911-609 BC) Iban: 47: 00 aint no theory, there is good research on this. Yes ofc we cannot prove it, but there is evidence by way of cuneiform that suggest the hanging ins gardens were really at ninevah, ancient chroniclers of the time often misnamed babylonians and assyrians (and with this entangled past thats easy to see how) and evidence of great waterways created to bring the water to ninevah, the construction project is on a whole mother scale, even evidence suggesting the use of the Archimedes screw at ninevah centuries before Archimedes was born. The sad thing is we seem to just remember wars. I mean he even had a giant aqueduct. poor Sennacherib doesnt get the true credit he deserves

I do free tours of the Assyrians in the British Museum every Wednesday at about 2 pm or 3 pm (sometimes as late as 4 pm. I then finish it with the Middle East Gallery upstairs. It lasts about 1 hour or more. I have been doing this for about 2 years. I stay until the museum closes at 4: 50 pm. I also do a small talk about the Rossetta Stone. I start at the Black Obelisk of Shalmenesser III at the bottom of the Egytian gallery. I have learnt from other people's tours and I have added material of my own.

30: 45 For their time.
A more apologist statement I have not heard in a while. For their time is right now, all you have to do is be born low enough or be in an area where the lower classes are still crushed by those above.
For their time, ask the indigenous folk of Western China about their time, perhaps the civilians of Syria and Iraq caught in the crossfire about their time.

Here in Northern Italy there still are descendants of the Ligurians going around, a preindoeuropean ethnia that is known since the last glaciation 15 000 years ago. They are biologvically recognizable by having Rhesus negative blood groups.
Are there in to-day Syria descendants of the Assyrians? Still speaking the Assyrian language?

reply

Heroditus wrote of a source who traveled Assyria during thr Median period. In the shadows of the walls of Nineveh, the Assyrian people living there thought the Medes built the walls. The destruction of Assyrian society had been so thorough outside of former court scholars, even the people had forgotten about themselves.

when you divided the sources into religious and contemporary historical, what do you mean with the later? How long after the event is it? On what basis you doubt of one and not another? Does it not count as religious as well even when it contains historicity?

ruled the world The world= small portion of the planet, unheard of by all of Native America, all of Aboriginal Australia, China, Greenland, every tropical island and all of Asia. Even Most of Southern Africa probably had no clue.

It seems to me that the only ones who have this right ate are the Turtle Island Indigenous. The Earth is what we are made of this is where in the Universe we were made, and the Earth, Our Mother is who we belong to! We rule nothing!

I've been obsessed with Assyrians for a few years now and I've watched and read a lot about them. This video has to be one of the best summaries of the empire that I've seen so far! Well done, you did an awesome job!

For an empire to last a thousand years is absolutely amazing. Think of all the inside and outside forces acting on it. A person living at the height of one of these empires had to assume their empire would last forever.

Arabic peoples history is dope. If you look at their art its totally different from the art in Egypt. A clear indication that ancient Egyptians were NOT Arabic they were North Africans same as Ethiopians, Moors, Ect

Said era wasn't linked with Nimrod, it was linked with Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. Nimrod's era was more thousand years ago.
