The story of Alexander the Great is a big lie in history that the Greek historians wrote out of hatred and enmity and to humiliate the Achaemenians and just make up myths.
Because their writings are full of contradictions, exaggeration, and irrational things, and because all the writings and historical sources of Iran were destroyed and set on fire by the Mongols and Muslims, their writings have received the attention of the public and the media, please go to history. Freeze carefully. You will understand what I mean.
In fact, a person named Ashkantar was a local who rebelled against Darius III and caused the downfall of the Achaemenids and established the Parthians.

Imagine conquering your fellow people istead of uniting with them and destroying whole state and sell their people in slavery, having completely different constitution where others were democratic city states but you are a kingdom, not being allowed to participate on turnament that all of the others were allowed, being called barbarian becuse all of the others couldn't undestand your language, culture ect. Doesn't sound to me like same people at all. Rather like completely different and unique compared to the others. But once you become successful and known all around the world (bicoming Great) immediately they change their view and start seeing you like their own.

3: 30 is that right? I thought they were 16 foot spears to the Greek 12 foot spears?
Tyre pissed Alexander off so much, he built a bridge for his troops to cross using boats. The dumbasses in the city laughed and taunted him, saying Alexander could never breech their walls. I think the only thing Alexander left standing in Tyre was the temple honoring Heracles (Hercules.
32: 00 worst retelling of a battle. If the charioteers divided Alexanders army by driving through its center, that would have been the end of Alexander the Great.
Divide and Conquer? It's real.
Alexander felt bad for burning Persepolis' temple down, it's said.

I was waiting for the creator's comment on battle of Jhelum(Hydaspes) with King Puru
And I am saddened to know that even he was not able to control his Western ego.
In essence, Alexender lost and severaly injured and fled back to Persia.
It's better to watch Alexander movie for reference.
Also, he was advised by Aristotle to stop till Persia and not venture into India.
Alexender greatness was severely shattered by Indian War fighting strategy.
Those days India is way better equipped with everything compared to now

Alexandria da Great gone to soon,
Could you imagine if he would of live another few year, He would of conquer the whole Arabia peninsula. Then maybe would of work his way from Eastern Africa. Then India would of followed all the way to western China. It would of been ridiculous for one man to have all that power.
Just only imagine if Alexander would of live to be 60

This is the thing many legendary conquerors have in common: Being in the fight with thier men, eating the same food, riding under the rain with them and generally sharing thier hardship. This is why thier men loved them so much and would push themselves so hard to make thier leaders proud.

What was 'great' about him? Brave maybe, strategist, yes - but great? To me he seems deeply flawed with not-great motives - revenge, conquest, pride. Why do we glorify mass killers such as this? With nuclear weapons the next one of him might be a bad thing.

As a history geekmyself, this is a very good, albeit straightforward presentation of Alexander the great 's conquest. Awesome work buddy! The total war used cinematography is great for visualizing the battles!

According to some journalists and human rights defenders these days. Alexander, founder of the Hellenistic period, was an antihellenic former Yugoslavian.

Its too bad sacking cities was a tactic in war during that time. Imagine all the history wiped from existence. What a loss to later generations.

Man is a violent beast. Imagine peacefully living in a small farming village in those times only to have your life burned down by an invading army.
