Hjalmar Johansson: Teenage Prisoner of WWII - History Sarah: With the appalling swing towards the -alt right- both in Europe and America and the way in which memories of WWII have faded over time or been glossed over by Hollywood, it is important to remember what actually happened at that time, and the horrors faced both by soldiers and by civilians at the hands of the Fascists. I have no personal experiences with this time period as I was not born until the 1970's, but I grew up surrounded by people who remembered these times and married the son of two people who served on the front lines, and as such I respect and honour this generation!
