Japan's Last Stand Part 1 - Battle 360 - History Bielski: This is false. Japan's last stand was in the summer of 1972. That summer two sleeping giants were awoken and assaulted Mainland Japan. The were named Gigan and Ghidorah. The JDF set up a hasty defense on the ourskirts of the nations capital but were quickly overran and decimated. With little to no resupply left Japan was left with little to no options but to withdraw from the city. From the depths of Tokyo Bay came the hero of the battle. GODZILLA. SAVIOR OF JAPAN.

They did not need Ivo Jima to launch attacks with B 27 on Japan from it, they needed it for the escort fighters and for crippled b 27 to land on. The B17 raids came from the Mariana Islands.

Carrier capability and cruise missile technology make all these tactics obsolete by today's standards. Lives saved by advanced military technology are impossible to count

Metal soundtrack, overly excited narrator, and annoying flashy graphics are horrible. Search Montemayor's video of Midway to see how to make a real battle overview video.

Iwo Jima needed to launch B-29s? Nonsense. Iwo was needed as base for fighter escorts for B-29s and for emergency landings of damaged B-29s. Facts still matter.

I remember watching this show before my Dad drove me to school in the morning. I was almost late because we were so into it. (These affects were great for 2008.
reply

Iwo Jima was not a B-29 base. B-29s could land there in an emergency, but the base was primarily for fighters. B-29s flew out of Tinian and Saipan.

Honestly saddens me that they didn't turn Enterprise into a museum or something. That ship has witnessed the majority of skirmishes in the Pacific
reply

Yup, they are very very desperate that some crush their own plane full of explosive's in a american ship just to sink it. ---
reply

I don't believe that B29s were launched from Iwo Jima. It was just a good place for damaged B29s to land on their return flight.
