And it is during this era that for the first time, Scandinavians made the capture and use of slaves a key part of their economy and military campaigns. In fact, some historians now argue that the Vikings were responsible for more human trafficking in the period 750-1050 C. E, than any other civilization. Although slavery existed in some form in Scandinavia long before the Viking era, it is during this period we see a sharp uptake in the number of slaves. Who were the Vikings? Today, Scandinavia is known as three separate countries Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. But back in the 8th to 11th centuries, these three countries were more of a loose region, known as Scandinavia. The people of Scandinavia were followers of the Old Norse religion and recognized throughout Europe under the banner Norsemen or the now more popular Vikings. Scandinavian society consisted of loosely connected tribes and petty kingdoms of Vikings, scattered throughout the three regions, amidst large areas of uninhabited land. As people most famous for their seafaring adventures and terrifying raids across Europe, it's no surprise that like many other societies, Vikings regularly not only took goods from the places they raided but people too, making them a slave-reliant society

Much of what you say is factual but to add context mathematically as the Scandinavian countries of the time were numerically small compared to the population of countries that they raided their impact wasnt as large as might be expected of a warrior, trade and farming society.
Plus they werent alone. Nor were they the only ones at the time to at all accept this abhorrent evil. The Roman Empire had slaves throughout its history, as did every Empire during its its time, during the Viking Era and for hundreds of years afterwards.
Non European Empires were no exception and it wasnt really until 1809 when Great Britain outlawed slavery in all its territories throughout the world that huge strides began ti be made to end this vile practice.
Otherwise, this short introduction to slavery 1, 000 years ago was well done

It was not only the (Vikings) Norse. The irish, Picts, Anglo Saxons etc. Dark Age cultures practice it.
Just that the Vikings had ships and could sail all over. The Vikings stood out cause Christian Monks gave them a bad rap. But the Christians of Ireland, Anglo Saxons who were Christian at the times practice the same thing they just pointed out the Norse were do it.
When the Normans came they abolished slavery and introduced serfdom which was not much better.

I have to correct you, i am finnish we had our own belief system. Ukko (meaning Old Man) the Over God was the top, then there were pantehon likeTapio god of forest Ahti God of Water and the demigods/heroes in the Kalevala - Book folk stories collected. The Germanic tribes are different from us finns, they had Valhalla and we only had Manala (meaning Underworld) Different Language we speak Finno-Ugric

Viking wealth, especially in the East, stemmed heavily from the slave trade. By the time that the Vikings reached Baghdad, a European slave could sell for 6, 000 dirhans or more. And that branch of the slave trade endured until Catherine the Great conquered the Crimea in the late 1700s.

What a disgusting culture, and media tries to romanticize these savages. The Vikings went around raping and pillaging, they did not have any philosophy nor inventions like the people of Southern Europe.

Scandinavia comprises Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Finland is associated with Scandinavia by virtue of Sweden having dominated Finland for several centuries. Finland has its own language and customs.
