. despite the fact that you will delete my comment you know better than anyone hereto that what are you stating about the Turks Invasion at 1974 in Cyprus is gibberish. simply because every single educated person on this Planet knows that the Greek Junta (1967-1974) has been implemented in Greece by the Americans. and the Turkish military invasion has been designed by the Americans with the absolute assent by the British. that's why the Turks have stopped their military Invasion in Cyprus in a specific area instead of conquering the whole Cyprus. because that was the Plan. and after the execution of the specific Plan the Greek Junta has fallen under the directives by the Americans. by the way I would like to make a couple of questions to the uneducated ones who have stated that the specific video was an objective one. Who were living in the specific Land for centuries (that now Turks are calling Turkey) prior of the arrival of the Turks at 1453 from the Land of Nowhere from the Deep Deep Asia. a Land that the Turks have taken by Military Force (business as usual for the Turks) by killing and throwing away the real inhabitants? Who were living in Cyprus for centuries prior to the Turks Military Invasion? And after so many years with the turkish state having landed thousands of settlers in the island and trying to force them into the stolen territories of Cypriot people, while whispers of annexation are being heard, lets not forget what the real purpose of Turkish invasion to the island was. And its the smae purpose they have when they invaded Syria. Reoccupy old ottoman land, clear its native population, and establish more turks. No other way short. Through genocide? Yes.
Somehow tho it was bad when Germans did this to the Jews, but its not really bad when Turks are doing it to literally everyone else they border with.

Why dont you tell the Turkish genocide before Turkish army came there. Greeks killed thousands of innocent People, even babies in cradle.
There are thousands of photos on the Internet which show the genocide. Until they made the genocide TURKEY had no intention to invade those lands.
Forgive me but those lands was Turkish soil for hundreds of years. Those People they kill were not refugees. They were locals. No one can claim the opposite.
Turks never made genocide. Neither Armenians nor Greeks. World is lying in these matters like every other matter they lied.

Well to be fair Turks had to intervene and pay the price by blood so it's not fair to say ''ok we are not uniting with Greece, leave now''. Promises generally have no value anyway. In 2004, Turkey agreed to leave and they did a referendum. Turkish Cypriots agreed to unite with the Greek Cypriot but Greek Cypriots vetoed it with 75%. So North and South couldn't united. Now only solution is 2 state.

Actually the British refused to step in after Makarios asked them to leave. That moment in Markario's leadership was a mistake. Later when the Turks entered, the British didn't help because of Makarios. In some ways Cypriots left themselves exposed and made a rod for their own back. There's a more complicated element in this history than is presented in the video.

And don't forget Bloody Christmas in 1963. A genocidal campaign was launched to exterminate the Turks from the island. That night the massacre was committed by Greek army and Greek Cypriots. Thousands of homes burned, child rape and the deportation of more than 20, 000 Turks.

Because the Greeks went on a killing spree of Turkish people, so Turkey invaded.
Having been to the Greek side and Turkish side I have to say the Turkish side is much nicer and the people far nicer. Even the Turkish boarder guards could not have helped more.

You forgot to mention how Greece, Turkey and the GB where all 3 in NATO so how come Cyprus was not part of it since it was so heavily influenced by this 3. The answer is because the independence was just a setup for 1974.

I visited cyprus a few years ago and it was very sad to see the abandoned city of Famagusta. There were still ragged clothes hanging on washing lines that had been there for decades - they just packed up and ran.
