The title of this video is a question, a question that makes no sense. It's no different from saying why did the celts collapse or the Anglo Saxons etc and so on. The title suggests that the Vikings were some kind of civilization or empire. 'Vikings' probably one of the most overused and misunderstood terms in history.
The short answer is that they didn't, they integrated, assimilated, subjugated and evolved. They moved on and so did the content of what contemporary scholars wrote about. I prefer 'Norse' or 'Scandanavians' and Scandanavia and the surrounding area is a big place which was home to Danes, Swedes, Norwegians, Jutes, Goths, Rus, Icelanders and probably a whole host more which were all labelled Vikings just like in later medieval times the term 'Turks' could mean people from all of North Africa, Southern Spain and most folks east of Constantinople.
Not only did the Vikings not collapse but they thrived. They live on today in great numbers all over the world and a good bit of their language is entrenched in modern English. Many place names in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire are of Danish origin and Northern dialects like Geordie and Mackem still echo the Old Norse

To say they where just loot seeking savages is so simplifiedit is basically wrong.
Those pirate ways also did not begin with the Viking age. That had been a way of life for centuries. It was just that it became a lot more organised during the Viking age and allowed the Nordics to become conquerors and not just a random pirate.

There is so much wrong with this video. First of all, the maps are wrong. Denmark had all of the peninsula down to northern Germany.
Secondly, Iceland was uninhabited, which is why there was no resistance.
Thirdly, Christianity was forced upon the Norse. They didn't convert willingly. Germany forced Denmark to become Christian, who then spread it onto Norway, then to the Faroe islands by Sigmund, then to Iceland when they banned public pagan worship, then to Sweden by force. A very influential character in this was Olaf Tryggvason, who has his own saga.
Fourthly, Norse culture and lifestyle did not die out, only the raiding aspect did.

The Vikings made as far as Minneapolis, where they helped establish a base in the NFL, under the leadership of Bud The Grant and Sir Francis of Tarkenton. They achieved some early success but never captured the Super Bowl. Later they settled in the Central Division and have incurred various trials and tribulations in maintaining a power base. The various tribes are still often called to battle via the -Gyallerhorn- in their newly established home, but it remains to be seen if they will establish a foothold.

It did not collapse, they simply got out competed by merchants, since Scandinavian-s did not worship or glorify wealth like our society does. The result was their mid-evil weapons quickly could not compete with alchemy, or guns or eventually better gear and technology.

We didn't really collapse, just became christian and stopped raiding, sort of. The Nordic nations kept being strong until the black plague. Also, the viking age didn't really start in 797 or whatever. trading and pillaging had been going on for centuries.

The vikings suffered major defeats at the hands of the caliphate of Cordoba in Spain and Portugal which directly impacted their decline so it-s inaccurate to assume -Christianity prevailed- completely, in this case.

My American friend the term Norse is also inaccurate as it refers to a -North Germanic ethnolinguistic group- in there were Vikings indeed that where finish and Estonian, then they were not all norse.
