Very few videos explaining the start of the civil war even mention the reason why Fort Sumter was even fired on in the first place. Federals snuck over to Fort Sumter from neighboring Fort Moultrie in the middle of the night, after agreeing with local officials that they would do no such thing, in order to better control the flow in and out of Charleston Harbor. Lincoln was waiting for the South to fire first and knew that Confederates would retaliate. Why else would they place a skeleton crew there with no supplies to actually man the fort If the story is going to be told, then it should be told in its entirety.
This is in no way an attempt at criticizing Knowledgia's videos bc his are the best I've seen at explaining history.

After trying to leave 6 times since the tariffs of 28, John Brown attacked the south and made them raise state militias, and lastly Lincoln won without a single southern state and made the south feel like they had no representation and wanted to form their own country, only 6 joined first but after Lincoln sent a fleet to Charleston which caused fort Sumter and asked for 75, 000 volunteers more states joined the confederacy even after some voted to stay like Virginia.

Nice try. It was all about money and control. The south had the land and weather for providing all the food and textile goods the north needed. The north had the textile mills then charged a tariff to the goods being sold back to the south. It was the Union control and big Europe money, verses State rights.

Fun fact only 32K Union soldiers were killed in battle during the civil war and the CSA had 31K killed in Battle. The vast majority of deaths occurred after the battle due to poor hygiene and wound care, disease and POW camps.

The South was fighting for state's rights. The right to own slaves is what that means. The South counted slaves as property but counted them as 3/5 of a person to increase their representatives in Congress.

Instead of watching this for 2 hours, I'll give a quick 2 sentence synopsis. Democrats wanted slavery, because who will do all the shitty jobs we dont want to do Republicans said FU. Sound familiar

The Civil War completely reshaped the United States, but in many ways, the divisions from that era still linger today. How much of its impact do we still see in modern America
reply

This isn’t accurate. You use slave states and never mention the real reason for the secession which was states rights over federal government. This is pure propaganda

European people are sick they talk about stealing other peoples resources and kill them. and then call themselves heros.

They had the bloodiest war in American history (approximately 600 thousand died) just to realise that humans are human too.
