Nope. I seriously doubt that I would even recognise _Il matrimonio segreto_ if I heard it. The Classical Period, apart of course from the First Viennese School, has never been of much interest to me, and although he apparently wrote a few masses, I've never sung anything by him. I might check out his _Magnificat_ and _Te Deum_ .

Nope a bad one for me this time around, Gareth! The only work by Cimarosa I know is his C-minor oboe concerto. TBH, I always thought he was a contemporary of Handel and Albinoni - of course themselves both authors of well-known oboe concerti.

Zero points for me. I never learned about him in my college Intro to Music class and all these years later still haven't heard of him. I'm clearly going to have to look him up.

I expected your quiz to be about their styles in music composition and we'd be supposed to guess the answers by listening to their works. this is more like music history

Whew, it's a good thing you mentioned St Petersburg, or else I'd have got less than 50 points! I had thought this composer lived some 20 years earlier than he did!

Can't say I'm familiar with him. Off hand, the only Italian composers I know are Vivaldi and Salieri, but I will look into his work
