Social distancing is very important right now because it flattens the curve and slows down the Coronavirus from spreading. But if were not careful, social distancing can also take a toll on our mental health. How has social distancing during the quarantine affected you?

my main problem with this isn't the virus, it's my family. I'm not saying they're bad people or anything, they're usually quite nice but managing their emotions and keeping the peace can be exhausting and when I give up all of a sudden I'm being insensitive. A lot of the time I sorta feel like I'm walking on egg shells. In order of exhaustiveness here goes: In first place is my older brother, he constantly lashes out, rains on my parade, and consistently ruins my day. In second place we have my mom, she is slow to anger but slow to forgiveness and she gets passive aggressive at small honest mistakes. In third place we have my dad who is actually pretty chill but he has a short fuse but he forgives almost instantly after realizing how small the problem is. I am usually kinda scared to my thing around them 'cause when I do get talked down to(probably by my brother. I think they're biggest problem is empathy and thinking how their words affect other people. It's partially my fault because I have a really well built front that I am nothing but happy all the time and they forget I have other human emotions as well. Another big problem I have is that i have no support system, Remember that front I told you about, well that extends all the way around my life so no one knows my thoughts at all(except for you strangers on the internet. Thanks for listening to me vent.

I myself am an ambivert, but I am significantly struggling, my mental health has hit rock bottom, I had very little friends to begin with in school but since quarantine I am only left with two friends who actually talk to me. Quarantine has been very taxing and my insomnia has gotten significantly worse to the point where I often dont fall asleep till six am. As well as this, even when talking to my friends I felt distant and lonely and started overthinking things and thinking of reasons why my friends may have more important things to do then talk with me. I didnt even realize how little I take care of myself at this point until I told my friend that I found it normal that I only eat one proper meal a day and he got mad at me for it. I want quarantine to end before I go absolutely wrong. As an ambivert Im the type who enjoys alone time for periods of time but need social interaction once in a while to keep myself happy and sane

Ive always been really positive never really inside my head, eversince quarantine happend there was a day where I started to overthink something that I shouldnt have been thinking about it really got to me anxiety spiked. hard, eversince Ive never been the same in my head, I always think that something is wrong with me, I really hop its because Im inside all day and dont have anything to do, I feel like Im not all here when I talk to someone, I feel like Im not present, for example when I talk to someone I will talk to them but Im still in my head thinking is this real? Is life real? Im just someone with a brain and so are all the other humans is life worth this? I really hope theres nothing mentally wrong with me if your going thru the same problem please write back to me

im an introvert so im supposed to be enjoying this but in reality i've been having all kinds of problems and anxiety stuff lmaoo ive been pretty much going insane and i can't relax enough to enjoy myself the world feels fake and i feel like time is not moving and time is going too fast but also too slow and my head feels weird and i somehow switched from night owl to morning person one day (i dont even know how this happened but im not even lying) and its always hard to sleep and im always so scared every night and sometimes during the day for seemingly no reason, i havent been outside in months and i overthink and excessively stress over the smallest things

Hmm, the only thing I'm stressed about is how so many people are blowing this out of proportion. It's hilarious, and the media makes it sound like everyone is afraid. Tbh, I'm not at all, and I think nature is taking its toll. Though, I don't want to lose any of my family members. I love them dearly, it's just that things are what they are for a reason. Things wouldn't happen if they weren't supposed to. Right? Or am I the only one that's calm and taking it all with all outlooks on life? Anyhoo, I do hope people don't freak out to an extent that they start to physically harm others. People are getting crazier and crazier. Lol

I have the loudest neighbors (more than one) in my neighborhood. It's very ghetto and its been on the news for murders and robberies. Due to this, I rarely go up to any neighbor to ask them to turn it down. Sometimes I don't get adequate sleep even though I am trying to stay healthy because of the noise. I have called the cops and some of them have become sneaky enough to stay in their cars and go only to come back with blaring music around 3 am. I feel like I am going insane. I really hate this place and I don't have any income to move.

Already one year im not hanging with anyone. Last yeard i ended high school online and since then i have no friends. I moved to study in other country and im alone. Earlier i was really hard working and organized and now i became really lazy. Im sleeping a lot and i have panic attacks when i have once a week practical class at the university. There is around 15 people but i cant handle it. I was really friendly person but now im terrified of people. Im really scared that im gonna end up in depression (if im not already).

Ik this video was ages ago but tbh quarantine has ruined my mental health. Its up to the point where I have panic attacks which last for days and never seem to end. Nothing seems real to me anymore and I always overthink stuff, like what if life isnt real? Or what if Im in a coma and this is all a dream? and its rlly messing me up. I just want my life back and I feel as though even if it does get back to normal, the feelings I feel now are never going to end: (

I was doing well for most of 2020 but ever since November its been getting pretty hard. My family still has work and school, going on and off of in-person and online, but I have been doing nothing for like the past month because my semester ended. I was planning on doing some things like croqueting and stuff after the semester ended but I haven't done anything. It's been rough and I basically have been having an existential crisis for the past month

I hate my job and every day I go, I'm feeling more confident in my decision to get a new job and quit once the shops open back up. In the meantime, I've discovered new techniques to get motivated to write, which has been a blessing. I even worked up the nerve to submit my work to a writing contest. (That was the hardest thing I've ever done)
This experience, though it comes about due to terrible circumstances, has been a net positive for me.

I may be an introvert but traveling outside and going to new places alone was how I coped with my depression in the past and without it now during quarantine it feels like my room is a small box closing in. I live alone as a self-sustaining adult and it's not like I have many friends to turn to so quarantine has been almost hellish for me personally.

Im an introvert and at this point it has been 6 months of isolation, losing jobs etc. I enjoyed it first but tbh it has gotten tough. I seen that I lost faith of things going back to normal, seeing my loved ones and being able to perform music live. Ive became closer to God this time. I cant go one day without it. thats what has helped me

I want to learn Spanish but I can't do anything without feeling guilty about not studying, to the point where I don't study at all because studying just reminds me of how much more I need to do.
The education system is a huge, steamy piece of shit.
This is what I have to say.

Social distancing, ever notice how the baloney-spewing, history ignoring, contemporary geniuses invent weirdo phrases, like social distancing, to imply they've invented something new? How impressive. Keep a safe distance, is a phrase as old as the trees and means the same thing.

I have a rag doll that I keep hidden from my parents. Behind closed doors, I cuddle with it, and this baby of mine really helps me cope with the family situations and with not being able to remain in physical contact with my close friends.

Haven't seen any of my friends for more than a year, reading all of these comments from 1 year ago makes me think how time passed by, we lost so much stuff, a big part of our lives, and unfortunately, it's not over yet.

There are so many videos, articles, and resources about quarantine anxiety but Im not really anxious, Im just incredibly depressed and I dont feel like anyone can relate.

Its not stressful, it FRUSTRATING! Its been over eight months! I just wanna party and have a good time instead of studying and having lame convos over the phone all day!

What should I do if I feel distant from people? Like, I'm finding really hard to start conversations, or open up about bad things happening, how should I deal with this?

Omg! Im so fortunate. Ive been exposed to journaling at a young age, have developed the ability to sit through reading, play guitar and dont live with toxic people.
