Yeah, my own mother is like that once, I helped her recover and snap out of it, I mean whenever she say things like I can die anytime if you like me too I'll give her my stinging treatment I'll answer her that being dead is easy and irresponsible; nothing great about it, so snap her out of it. Yeah, my mom used to do nothing and sleep the whole day, I force her to tell me her problems, I help her solve it, cheer her up by keeping the house clean and tidy, pay the bills, and keep making her laugh by joking, keep telling her everything is no big deal, well, it's not easy, for patients with depression you need to constantly snap them out of it. You can try to get them to do things and focus things by telling them please do it for me, give them a meaningful and healthy purpose.

I was already diagnosed with Dystymia after a 30min talk with a psychologist, I do relate to 6 out of 8 points and I esoecually feel heavily lost and empty not motivate to visit school and because of that I have consistent stress and now I have to wait and sit at home while my teacher decide if I get to participate in the finals exam or not because I was missing often enough for my grades to be standing on the edge. the stress and guilt is killing me. I just hope that I get the green light for the exam, I really cant go through another year of school especially since all my friends would be gone than too

I suffer from constantly being tired. Some days ill sleep 10+ hours and ill still be tired. Even when i was born my mom had to put a warm wet rag on my face to wake me up to eat other wise i would just sleep. Not to mention i was so tiny i could fit in a little shoebox. I remember even when in school i would ditch a-lot just because i was always so damn tired i just wanted to sleep. I also cant keep a job because ill randomly just call in sick because of how tired i am. Soon Im really going to be homeless and its a depressing thought

I was diagnosed with MDD and TAG years ago, music and arts helped a lot and learning about it. Right now, I think about it more like the Angel vs Devil shoulder thing, but insted it's MDD and TAG. So everytime i think something toxic, bad or dark, i question if it's me or them, that helped me to avoid a lot of episodes cause when i was able to distinguish the illness was acting up, i would quickly distract myself with a game, movie or calling a friend.

This is what Ive been told I have from several mental health workers, since I was 23 years old. My meds are not working anymore. I know I need to seek help. I can't sleep rill early in the morning, then it takes all I can do to get up after 12 hours. I'm now sharing a home with the worst Narcassist ever and that sure does t help! Never suicide thoughts, it's against my religion and ideals. I lost my best friend to suicide

i have mdd and i dont want to die anymore, this doesnt mean i feel any better though. now the desire for death is replaced for a hopelessly desperate yearning to be held and loved, i want it so bad i just lay in my bed crying and also hungry because i dont eat breakfast or lunch anymore. and the only thing i can do is keep going and im trying so hard and im actually doing pretty good but i still feel so shit

I just got diagnosed with MDD and CPTSD by my therapist and it was pretty eye opening. I knew I was depressed but I didnt think it was MDD. I dont feel bad about it, as a matter of fact, its actually pretty interesting to know. Its nice to have a name to it. Ive always had an interest in mental health anyway, so I can look at it objectively. I think I can handle it.

I think the Neverending story had it right. Atreyu trying to get his horse to swim through the mud. I've lost hope, and I'm swimming through the mud, my kids are my motivation, and my last final spirit is the voice of Atreyu telling me I can't quit. Hope is a fleeting moment that steals your will to continue. once it's gone beware.

When i have to drink to feel things to socialize to keep myself on the move and only to feel like i am living on the edge only to have random things like forgetting things becoming a beat down on myself i start to feel like not living because i felt that eventually that i wouldn't be able to know my name.

Usually when I have a few days off work I sleep for 14 or more hours and still feel tired, I often have thoughts of ending it or any sad memories that makes me suffer when I wake up, not only that but I sometimes only eat a little bit once a day. I often ask myself how the hell am I still breathing!

As someone who relates to point 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7, i have another problem. My depression isn't just lasting 14 days, it's lasting around 5 years and i can't simply talk to someone, because my 10 years of not wanted social isolation took every confidence with others, i had left, away

The other hard part is when your family doesnt get it. My mom asked for a favor and Im barely able to function so I said no. She told me later that she hopes I start feeling well so that I can start helping her with stuff. They will never know the energy it takes to just to stay alive

Insomnia and hypersomnia aren't mutually exclusive either. I often have times when I try to sleep and can't get to sleep until the sun starts to come up. When I finally fall asleep, I sleep 12 hours solid and still wake up completely drained

I had Major depressive disorder my freshman year of high school. It was awful. I cried everyday, refused to go to school, I wanted to die, I felt hopeless, I overate, hated myself, and didnt wanna do anything or talk to anyone.

-difficulty thinking
-inability to feel pleasure
-over fatigue with loss of energy
-feelings of worthlessness
whenever I feel these emotions I just critisize myself and tell myself that You're just lazy

I have MDD and was properly diagnosed with it. I'm worried about my husband and I'm trying to see if I can get him to the doctor to see if he also has MDD because he has been depressed but also has hypersomnia

Me: Realizes that literally everything I've looked into for MMD I've related to
Also me being under 18 and my parents hate diagnosis so I'm probably not gonna get any sort of help for a long time

The common cold is a good comparison for depression actually
Most people get it for a while and have a rough week now and then and get over it
But a small percentage of people die of it

My depression feels like Im stuck in a dark room where there is no flicker of light, no switch I can hit, nothing that illuminates or guides me through an endless dark and blackened sea.

Im so used to being in a depressive state that I think its normal. Then after a year or so Ill look back at pics and realize how depressed Ive been the whole time. Such a huge mind ffff
reply

i havent talked to a professional yet, but concidering im getting physically ill and hot to the touch from how stressed and depleted i am id say this is a likely outcome
reply

depression is wanting to be understood and tell someone what's going on with you, but your mind making you say you're fine because why bother talking again for nothing
reply

I've been diagnosed with bipolar, but I feel like I've been misdiagnosed. There's not ups for me it's always been my depression that lingers.
reply

I have felt this way for 20 years. I have just gotten used to it. Not easy, but I don't know how to change. I'm not good at asking for help
